  1. So, in my area, I can SEE the mast, its vodafones. I cant however get signal many many times through the day - we have three mobile phones all on vodafone either directly or via talkmobile who resell vodafone Ive told them on the community forums, facebook ,called them up even - ive just entered into a contract and service is terrible. I feel like sending the phone back and getting a refund/new contract with EE
  2. We did complain. We were told a) nothing will be done to the employee, no warning, no telling off,b) We were told to royally F off and see you in court if you have a problem. I guess nothing can be done and we'll still keep paying them, putting money (and mints) into their pockets so they survive another day and do the same elsewhere.
  3. Yes, we witnessed this. He was downstairs a long time, and on inspection he was literally filling his pockets, it wasnted 'a mint' or a couple of mints - and they wernt in the reception or public area, they were mints in a meeting room of which he was only supposed to be changing the water filter Yes the police were called. At the end of the day, you are trusting someone in your business -what next? Franking machine? Some envelopes? the projector? They argue their water contract have nothing to do with their staffs liabilities, thats a court issue. I think they will be holding the cards here however they can continue to trade with staff who the let into peoples buildings, to take when not offered or asked Their contract states that any breech or any reason they can come grab the water bottles and dispensers they can continue to claim for payment,
  4. So, long story short, we caught the Water bottle provider (for office water) filling his pockets with mints from the meeting room. He was only supposed to, and trusted with, being in there to change the water bottles over. we dont want this little thief in the building any longer we called to terminate the water contract - they have stated a) they dont give two hoots about their staff and b) they wont cancel the water order, will, come to premises and take the goods and continue to bill us c) "bring it on, we have lawyers" No apology, nothing. here is the agreement enclosed that we signed, yes we can give three months notice as its dated 2014. what rights do I have - without court, bearing in mind its a civil agreement not a criminal one - yet my issue is technically criminal (ok its only mints but the principle is there). we threatend the fact we may call the police about this and for them to just take their stuff and go - but he proceeded to take that as blackmail! We just dont want them in the building ever again nor do we want to pay them a penny more! They are also member sof: http://safecontractor.com/ and http://bwca.org.uk/
  5. Do I demand they pay cash or can i get the cash off their insurer? Or is insurance just insurer to insurer?
  6. tried a freedom of information act request but it was denied.
  7. Ok so frustratingly the company i THOUGHT it was, have confirmed its not their company. The one i now THINK it is asking more questions about me before confirming ownership. Next point of call? I dont want to go through my insurer as the excess outweighs the cost. Im thinking DVLA v888 form then send a letter -i just want to keep my identity safe as the guy was a right yobo
  8. I have the same issue - how as this resolved? As its a telecommunications default I cannot request a credit agreement as these terms do not apply. Best course of action? Default for £87! pathetic
  9. And they would have turned up, if i was injured - i wasnt - and so they said its a failure to stop offence which is done via admin and insurance channels
  10. No point going to the insurance, as the excess is £250, i coudl fix it for £60-100 Point is, why should i pay for someone elses mistake Ive written the report, should i send in a solicitor or send an invoice now or wait until the police are done?
  11. Yep, called the police straight away. They told me to go to the police station and fill out a form, which I did. 3 witnesses, so not entirely my word against theres, why should they get the upper hand of innocent unless proven when they stopped and the accident was seen by 3 pairs of eyes
  12. yesterday, I spent most of the evening driving around to catch more info about the guy and filing a police report I got hit by a lorry... he drove off.. i followed and parked in front of him alerting him he had hit me. . he pulled over, started to get aggressive, wouldnt exchange details, swore a lot and so i backed off for my own safety. I took a photo of his truck and my damage and went to the police. I filed the report - but they will only help if the insurance company need the info - the damage isnt worth my excess I have the drivers partial reg, the company details name and address of the company. Can i send them an invoice stating it would be quicker than going to court? At the end of the day he hit and drove off... in a company lorry, which is silly because I can always track them down. They're scaffolding people working on the building a lane before where i got hit
  13. Section 11 of the Landlord and tenant act 1985 states: (1B)Nothing in subsection (1A) shall be construed as requiring the lessor to carry out any works or repairs unless the disrepair (or failure to maintain in working order) is such as to affect the lessee’s enjoyment of the dwelling-house or of any common parts, as defined in section 60(1) of the Landlord and Tenant Act M11987, which the lessee, as such, is entitled to use.]
  14. The Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 1994 Every electrical appliance supplied by the landlord must be safe to use; the electrical installation in the house must be completely safe.
  15. To add they quote schedule 2 housing act 1988, and specifically grounds 12 which states 'Any obligation of the tenancy (other than one related to the payment of rent) has been broken or not performed' We've just spotted in our contract, under interuptions to the tenancy "If the premises are not made havbitable within 1 month, either party may terminate this agreement by giving immediate written notice to the other party. Kitchen still floods when it rains, still not been sorted Chimney still dangerous Water coming in through my sons room from the exterior leaking inside the house - 4 weeks on this one. How strong is this?
  16. We moved into a 3 bed semi detached property may 2013, from the offset weve had allsorts of problems, bei it curtain poles falling out of the ceiling to rainwater coming in and flooding the kitchen. Time frames are ridiculous, getting things repaired ie. in September 2013 we complained the chinney was looking dangerous due to a small tree growing out of the back - a contractor quoted the landlord and the neighbour to re-render the shared chimney but the neighbour refused to pay, as its our side of the chimney that is damaged. Still the chimney hasn't been done, still I feel its going to fall down and possibly injure us should we be sitting in the garden. This week took the biscuit, our oven stopped working, the guy came out to look at it after two and a half weeks of faffing (one guy came quoted and didn't hear from them again week 1, then the handy man came out then a week later the REAL guy came. He was alarmed, the earth had been wired up wrongly, a cable had burnt out laving a fire mark, and the earth had been wired up to the negative - We have old type fuses, which the man said was the reason for it not tripping - they were forcing the current through, for it to work. He was baffled it worked at all. There are no smoke alarms at the property, we bought in our own to be safe. The whole place is just cheap fixtures and fittings and bad workmanship, being even dangerous, who knows what other dangers lurk. Should we not have had an electrical safety check before we entered the property? If so, it clearly wasn't adhered to. Being without a cooker for almost 3 weeks, with 3 kids, We've had enough! My point now is - what options do we have? We have signed a 12 month contract, ending in November, but wed really like to get out asap as we're sick of the constant repairs, bodges and dangers we unveil. We've looked through the contract and there's little we seem to be able to get out on, what are the chances of reducing our rent period? Can we claim damaged as per our contract, if so, what? It seems if we breech the contract we're out on our ears with fines, yet he can provide us with a crap service and theres nothing we can do to break the contract because of them. Please help.
  17. statute barred letter acknowledging they are dropping the account, however no compensation.I just wanted it off my file so that's the main thing here.
  18. Extra info, Fredrickson International asked them to write to me. So, sky have sold it to freddy? seems a bit f a daisy chain
  19. Sky believed I owed something daft like £6, which I paid on the phone when I tried to turn ont he service again. I then got a bill for £66 for a few weeks usage. I moved house and now have a letter from BC solicitors talking aout my previous supply address. Nothing on my credit file/ Actions? I clearly cant take this odd bill up with Sky anymore. Bryan, if you're watching this thread, get ready,
  20. I would have loved to, however I bought the car 200 miles from my house.. they KNEW I wouldnt make use of their 3 month guarantee When i broke down two weeks later, the car wasnt drivable, AA tow to garage, £500 later ... . back on the road until the next failure.. .£500.. . then the next.. £500.. . now i can hear the suspension creaking, wheel wobble, radiators leaking, ecu has corrupted, radio ariel flew off. .. and ive hit the RAC's callout fair usage policy! Really confused what to do. The car is worth 900-1200 or so when in good condition (working) The clutch needs doing, upper wishbones and a new MAF and cambelt's due in 7k. 1700 left on the finance. I could potentially, pay it off using a credit card, get it sorted and sell it off to clear most of the credit card debt then take out a new loan with them. My missus says keep paying it off and run it into the ground, but i dont think i can do another year of monthly breakdowns! Or i get it sorted, hand the car back and then risk not being able to get another car loan from anywhere
  21. Well it was an 04 plate when I got it 20 months ago. Its not in bad shape, just these 'issues'. If i got the ecu sorted i gues si could be onto something? I guess that company wouldnt offer me finance again though.... The best they offered so far was to take whats owed and slap it on a new cars finance :/
  22. Right, I bought a lemon.. on finance. Its becoming an absolute money pit, the amount of miles I drive I need a reliable car. Ive broken down eveyr month so far, aways something blowing and costing £500 The 50% mark on the finance has passed, ages ago, ive got about a year left but a) the car wont be worth anything by then and b) its asking for yet again more money. The problem I have with the “just give it back” argument is ive been told it needs to be in A1 condition. Well, as it’s a lemon the ecu is corrupt , the dash flashes like a Christmas tree, the radio doesn’t work anymore (arial ripped off!) and there are dents and dings around the car. So, in theory, its not a1 and could potentially get a mechanic to make it A1 and charge me most of the £1700 left on the finance. Ive also just got my credit file back on track, I don’t want another default or CCJ. My first thought was to pay off the finance early from a credit card and sell it, then use the same company to get a new car. What are my options?
  23. Ok I think we need a summary here, to clear up the issue: I have an unknown account on credit file by Tesco, every previous attempt to get some sort of account number or details has failed. Despite being many many years old it never defaulted. Until now Tesco did not have information ont his account until I got the FOS involved. Tesco defend it is an outstanding balance and a credit card account. FOS took my enquiry and believe tesco have not done anything wrong as they have looked at Tesco's evidence and concluded the account is valid. They did not disclose any information to me. No-one has at any point proven this to me. Tesco have written to me after the above mentioned letter demanding answers, stating they will now chase the debt now they have found my new address If i DID have an account I dont have any details to go by, none have been provided by anyone. All i can state is its statute barred. I then also risk a default going on my account as this currently hasnt been registered, the account is 'open' according to my credit file... for 10 years, no payments made. If I DIDNT have an account, they are surely misleading the FOS, credit report agencies and myself, chasing for monies they do not have a right to nor can provide anything about. However as no-one will give me any information on the account, i cant make a decision for the next steps and further complaints are surely going to fail with "Tesco have given us their side of the story and we believe there is no reason not to pursue" like the FOS stated and im back at square one. This is really difficult to follow AND get on with my life, i seem to be batted back every time with no resolution and no further steps to force a resolution.
