  1. Strange call, I said to her 'the interest rate is too high on the Credit Card', she told 'me it's down to Visa'. She was busy typing away. Anyone else had any calls?
  2. I think it's neat winning a prize that you haven't entered, it proves it wasn't fixed:D
  3. According Track & Trace the Halifax SAR hasn't been confirmed as being received. The other two have been received.
  4. Mental ill health 'costs business £28bn a year', says NICE report - Times Online
  5. Have to talked to a solicitor about it?, must be something in your supply contract stating they need to act fairly.
  6. If it's as you have described, it's totally unreasonable. I'm sure theres a rule that they can only go back so far as it's their fault. Do a through research of your options as energy companies are the last to help when things go wrong. Try Consumer Direct. Consumer Direct
  7. Maybe your husbands manager could write something for the attention of the store manager , so at least he's had an input. If an appeal is needed later then that could be handy. You really, really must stop worrying.
  8. I know where your coming from, but your husband's manager does know your husband, you've said that he is supportive. Plus they probably hold a Personnel file which will show positives. So maybe he can write something. If you want to write a letter about your concerns and how you feel. I'd send it to the Director of HR at Head Office. The fact that the Store Manager is new has a plus and minus side. It's all down to his makeup.
  9. The following organisations will help, especially the CAB office:- Citizens Advice - the charity for your community National Debtline – Free, Confidential Debt Advice – Call 0808 808 4000
  10. She paid £20 on the train. They are now asking for £40.10 admin fee + single rail fare. I would write to them saying that after a successful appeal you won't be paying any further monies. State that you paid a Penalty Fare that in reality you shouldn't have to. All you should had to pay is the fare. In the letter tell them you want a partial refund of the penaty fare, thats less the train journey. Tell them a copy of the letter is going to Rt Hon Lord Andrew Adonis, Secretary of State for Transport.
  11. I've known there to be no injuries, no damage, each driver accusing the other of being reckless, a fifteen minute debate, the police arrive. Sometimes they can cool matters, all to do with ego's.
  12. There is always a loophole, no doubt it's the same with Europe.
  13. The Euro is fine as long as the Queen appears on it.
  14. The only blessing is that were still an Island, although I'm sure that the other Euro countries will want it attached to France in the near future.
  15. I would tell the truth, if he fabricates info on an application form, if found out later that would have consequences, he would be no better off. Plus it's far from over, the other thing is that this manager might be trying to impress the new store manager. I spent 25 years in retail and was a manager for many of those years. I've seen it all. I should really write a book.
  16. Get something down in writing and send it to thier Head Office if your still not happy once they have responded too you. I don't think you can put it down to experience what ever amount it is.
  17. All you do is send it to there Head Office, addressed to Duncan Bannatyne, Chairman. If your not happy with thier response, you get a second bite at it. He was actually on Watchdog a couple of weeks ago talking bout sunbeds, he got a 'roasting' from Ms. Robinson.
  18. I don't think you should stick cash into those machines, a cheque is fine, but cash requires banks to be honest, and it could be any Tom, Dick or Harry opening the envelopes.
  19. What they should be doing is reviewing security procedures with regards to keys. Log book for keys etc. Asking you guys for suggestions to improve security.
  20. You should of written to Duncan.
