  1. Subscribing. Think the answer may still the same, and that they're out of time but better wait for Dave's reply.
  2. Have a look at the Greater Manchester Employment Rights Service. They have downloadable factsheets for Unfair Dismissal, etc. Their telephone advise is second to none but you have to live in the area to qualify. Keep in constant touch with ACAS, let them guide you through every step. Greater Manchester Pay & Employment Rights Advice Service -> Advice Factsheets -> Your Rights at Work -> There is also a section on employment legislation Greater Manchester Pay & Employment Rights Advice Service -> Research -> Employment Legislation ->
  3. I do, if you've already given them £45. Make them an offer. Have you contacted the police?
  4. Think I'd get some advice on this. Try sending a PM to Rory. http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/member.php?find=lastposter&t=105847
  5. He means don't offer them any information, they know the rules. A debt becomes unenforceable under the CCA if a creditor does not supply a true copy of the signed credit agreement within 12 working days of it being requested. After a further month the creditor has committed an offence. This offence can be reported to the Trading Standards Authority (in the creditors area, not your local one), or the FSA and also the Information Commissioner's Office.
  6. Dave, thanks for the link, I've just read the whole thread. Was sitting on the edge of my seat, great stuff, well done. Should I send the letter or is it too early?
  7. 'You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Curlyben again.' Fantastic, thank you so much.
  8. Still a newbie so like confirmation of these things to set my mind at rest. Thank you.
  9. Hi Curlyben It's def a Morecrap letter from their Stockport address. They're telling me to send payment of £1665.81 in full by July 23rd and write '...if you do not respond we will assume you are purposely avoiding payment and will take the necessary steps to secure settlement which may include legal action...' They also say they've searched the Land Registry and believe I may have an interest in my address. (Somehow I don't believe their porky pies.) It's signed A J Martin, Debt Recovery Manager. --- If the CCA isn't forthcoming Curlyben, what's my next step? Do I do nothing and wait another 30 days? Thanks for your help.
  10. And don't talk to them on the phone - Hang Up! Make them write to you.
  11. Better than Harry Potter this! Subscribing.... waits with baited breath.
  12. Six working days ago (11 July) I sent a CCA request to Moorcroft. I know they've received it because all telephone calls suddenly ceased. Amazing result! Their 12 days are up next Thursday, 26th ( sooner if Saturday is classed as a working day... ) However, this morning I received a 'Notice of Intended Litigation' and the debt has been loaded with £216 charges in one week. Just wanted verification really, do I sit tight and wait for the 12 working days to be up - and then do I give them a further 30 days before my next move? Cheers.
  13. Hi, tsk, that's disgusting. He may have a claim for Constructive Dismissal. Have a look at this website: www.gmemploymentrights.org.uk Check out their page 'Your Rights At Work' and you'll see a list of Advice Factsheets. Greater Manchester Pay & Employment Rights Advice Service -> Advice Factsheets -> Your Rights at Work -> Scroll down and look for the 'Unfair Dismissal' sheet. If you live anywhere near the Manchester area, give them a ring, they're hot on employment law. -- Another good site is Emplaw: Disclaw Publishing - Employment Law, unfair dismissal, redundancy pay -- Also, give ACAS a ring tomorrow. Acas - Rights at work Good luck with it. Hope he gets them!
  14. ** Forget my post, just discovered noomill's thread & will follow that. http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/students/78206-noomill-student-loan-company.html
  15. Looking for advice please. My son has a student loan debt (deferred), but because he was challenging their charges of around £500, the charges part of the debt is now being handled by EOS Solutions in Warrington. How should he deal with this? CCA to SLC or EOS? Or, should it be a letter requesting a list of all charges? Any advice welcome.
  16. Hi, It started off as one but I kept editing it as it didn't seem to fit. Back to the original then, thank you.
  17. My son is going to try to claim charges from Capital One. Think he's had his card for about 3 years. Could anybody advise if this letter is acceptable? Cheers. Dear Sir I am writing to request a fully comprehensive list of all the default charges that have been added to my account since its inception. Please find enclosed a postal order for the maximum statutory charge of £10. If you are unable to provide this data, I will accept a copy of all my statements. --------------------
  18. You're right Jen, the links posted here aren't working. Try this for starters: http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/faqs-please-read-these/
  19. Hi Rory Gutted to learn this, although, I've only sent 1 CCA request so far. Thanks for the heads up, I won't sign in future.
  20. Hi Tagal, They default after 12 working days +2 days allowed for delivery. They can't have one month! After one month they've committed an offence.
  21. PS, Chris, read this thread, it may help you. Rory has posted a sample letter after a DCA failed to respond to a request for CCA. http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/debt-collectors-debt-collection/104731-mckenzie-hall-not-responded.html
