  1. The number given above will take you straight to the call centres. It's the general number given for all customer enquiries. Do you not have any correspondence from them with a number to call?
  2. I really think that this is one for your Friend's solicitor. The two solicitors must have been fairly convinced by this guy at the time or your friend's solicitor would have ensured it was part of the settlement and done by Court Order, in order to protect her, as she could apply for a variation order in this instance to ensure he increased the payments. The CSA IS a bit of a lottery. If he is self employed he could manipulate what he receives as Salary (although i have heard of cases where the Company's books have been requested!) and the fact that he has a child living with him will reduce his "available income", as will his new partner, if she is not working and is a dependant. My advice is go back to the solicitor who drew up this agreement and see what they have to say about his refusal to stick to the agreed terms.
  3. You can claim tax credits and be deemed to have a nil income if you work over 16 hours a week and are not getting paid through sickness etc as well.
  4. Why invite a female into a male club if your gona bury them CAG? That makes no sense. Could you explain?
  5. MaggieMay I can try to help you on this one. However I would need more details. You didn't mention that your Son had been suspended. What reason has been given? Generally in these multiple suspension cases there is more to it than meets the eye. However in my experience there are ways to get it sorted, you just need to know ebays ways properly. To be honest I'd be suprised if you get much more than you know using the SAR route. This isn't about YOUR account, but an account that has been opened by someone else. I doubt the Police will get involved. And I doubt ebay will even read emails sent to them. (Their computer picks out random "keywords" and you get a "personal" reply about them) I would be happy to help you to try and sort this out. If you would like me to try please PM the following details: Your ebay ID Your son's ebay ID ANY other ebay ID registered at your address - that you know of. If you have already spoken with the live help people I would need to know what they told you. I hope I can help.
  6. Maggie May Have you, or have you not spoken with ebays "Live Help"?
  7. I know you were MrS Thanks for prompting me to clarify
  8. I would also ike to clarify that I do not ADVOCATE telling the bank porkies, but I was clarifying the fact that there is no charge for stopping a lost or stolen cheque - as opposed to a request to stop which is chargeable at the Bank's discretion.
  9. Good Point, but I think it fairly unlikely. Generally, Once it's stopped, it's just that. Stopped. If it was banked it's unlikely much would happen. However, that IS a possibility. Not one I would consider worrying about - but that's me I guess. This is, from my perspective, how the bank would see it. At the end of the day something that is lost can be found and therefore there would be no reason to investigate. If the person to whom the cheque was made out (or the Company) pays a cheque into an account in their name, with a valid signature on it, there is no fraud. Just circumstance. (Think of it as if it was you. You get a cheque, you bank it, the person reports it lost and stops it. YOU haven't done anything, simply banked a cheque in your name.) They get a letter saying the cheque won't be paid and told to contact the drawer. However a cheque that has been altered, or that has a signature that doesn't meet that held from the bank, or being paid in to an account that it hadn't been written to, that would be looked into, especially if the cheque or chequebook had been reported lost. In this case, having reviewed the OPs comments I would say that it would be worth the risk of a cheque stopping charge in order to ensure that the cheque didn't go through, if it was for a fair bit of money. I would also counsel that MULTIPLE "lost" cheques or "stolen" cheques do mark the account for "special attention".
  10. I am almost an ex-bank-employee. If a cheque is lost there is NO CHARGE to stop it. This is also the case if the cheque or chequebook has been stolen. Generally the operative has the discretion to add a charge (normally £10) to stop a cheque by request. (For instance if you have written it for too much or have "changed your mind") I wold counsel you to ensure that you have enough money in the account to cover it momentarily. The reason being is that sometimes if the cheque is cashed (but has been stopped) they system FIRST recognises the debit to your account. The stop is often not applied until later in the day. Whilst this should not affect you if you have the funds, it may affect your ability to draw funds during the time the cheque shows as a debit and until the cheque amount has been refunded to your account. Hope that helps.
  11. I also meant to say. I am sure in your dealings with the telephone "operatives" at HMRC Tax Credits that you have come across being told one thing by one operative and another by another. I'll have a small side bet that if you rang again and asked them what items on a P11D are declarable, they would read from the list (on which Private Health Care does NOT appear) and almost certainly tell you something different, especially if you questioned them. I THINK, although I could be wrong, that often when you mention any type of benefit on the phone to these people they seem to automatically assume it should be included in your Tax Credit Form. I was once told that I had to declare my Disability Living Allowance (over £300 per month) Subsequently I discovered that this was nonsense. Strangely no-one at the Tax Credits office had noticed and informed me that I shouldn't declare it!! (although the lump sum when I pointed out their mistake and they had to repay what I had been "docked" was very welcome;) I think, especially at this time of year (renewal time) there is a lot of mis-information being given out by inexperienced telephone operatives who don't know all the rules. Saying "That is the fact of the matter" does NOT, in my opinion, make someones belief or statement correct, it simply implies that the person is sure of themselves. As am I. However I would advise that you check this out more thoroughly. I on the other hand, I personally have renewed my claim as per usual and have NOT declared my Health Insurance as it is NOT on the list of benefits in the "Notes".
  12. I get Private health Insurance and also claim Tax Credits for two children. I was told categorically by both Welfare Rights and subsequently the Tax Credits Bods that I DO NOT have to declare this as it is NOT income. The Company (actually a Bank) that i work for give me this benefit and I cannot "opt out" I can simply chose not to use it. Therefore I agree with you Phantom. This is a nonsense. I would suggest you ring the Tax Credit people, but not the usual number. Try this one: 028 9093 9771 - it's a Belfast number and a department called "Customer Compliance". I've found them human, approachable and VERY knowledgeable as it's their job to investigate claims at random. If you really require confirmation of this. But, as it's not on the list. The location of it on the P11D is not listed and I have been told by both the "helpline" and the Compliance people that it is NOT declarable, tells me that I won't be declaring it this year, any more than I have declared it for the past 3 years. I hope this helps.
  13. I've PM'd an explanation of part 4 of the plan. Has the transaction been partially refunded?
  14. kregrs The paypayl payment can't have disappeared. Have you tried this way. Log in to Ebay. Go to My Ebay, then the transaction. Click on the link to the item bought and then, when logged in as the buyer you should be able to follow the link to the payment for that transaction at the very top of the item listing page. I should say something like "This item was paid for by Paypal on xxxxx date" and then further down on the left it will say "See details of this transaction". That should find you the paypal payment. Whne you have logged on to paypal, check that the transaction has not been partially refunded in any way. On paypal you can search by payments "sent to" or transaction number etc. I am about to PM you about point 4 of my "evil plan"
  15. Rosiesparkle Thanks You saved me from posting a great long post. and you did it for me. Rosie is correct. You can have more than one account at the same address etc. I have 4, my OH has 3 and my eldest daughter has 2. All at the same address. Are you ABSOLUTELy sure that the email came from ebay and that you haven't responded to any emails you weren't sure of recently etc?
  16. Bollotom, Apology accepted from me too. Please accept mine for jumping on you a bit (oo-er missus!) I'm afraid that this particular "baby" is a bit near the mark for me, having had to battle through their systems and at one point having a tribunal decision in my favour being appealed to the Commissioners in London. I still won But there are a lot of misconceptions out there - mostly by people who have never been in this position themselves and those of us who have no coice but to survive on disability benefits and the like get a bit chewed off when it's implied - yet again - that we are all a bunch of scroungers, or it's easy to get the benefits etc etc Not implying that you said anything of the sort of course. All friends now eh? sandbag - Best of British with the old form filling. Please feel free to PM me if you feel the need, especially for help with the forms.
  17. They have two accounts Demon. The OTHER one (not the one that sold this particular top) is a Powerseller (you know - those pillars of the community ) and is only a neg away from losing the PS status. Nothing for sale. Methinks that the other A/c has been opened so that the two can be merged keeping both lots of feedback, but losing the comments left for others from one account and dropping some beig red blemishes a bit further down the scale. Power sellers and ebayers with shops REALLY shouldn't be registered as private sellers, now should they ??? I'll either update myself or kegrs can do it, if and when they read my PM.
  18. You will have to wait and see!! I have PM'd my "evil plan" to kregrs, but he hasn't responded, so I don't even know if he's read it. Once he's decided what to do I might just reveal all!!
  19. Refreshing! (Not the G & T, but the fact that the complaint was dealt with quickly!) Well done. Enjoy that cash and don't spend it all at the bar
  20. Scrub that - I've just found the negative feedback that you left them! I'd like to help if I can, but I'd prefer to do this by PM if you don't mind. I think I can get you a refund and some payback at the same time if you are minded.
  21. Hi again, I've just checked up on "Chiara" fashions. There are two on ebay in West Yorkshire. Can you PM me which one it is. I have the PERFECT way for you to get some dosh back AND hang them out to dry at the same time, if you are interested!
  22. Now, as an ebay trader myself, I was TRYING to advise you by seeing both sides of the story. However this "seller" has now got right up my nose. Can I just check? Did the top arrive Recorded Delivery? I'll admit now that I have spent a number of years helping on the Community Forums on ebay and therefore have quite a lot of experience in this field. Any chance you can PM me the seller id? I will take a look, but for the time being I wouldn't worry. I'm afraid you can kiss goodbye to a shiney new top - however you SHOULD be able to get your refund, or a top that you can sell on. Sellers AND Buyers who think they are above the rules and try to intimidate folk are my pet hates.
