Prelim letter sent off today for the small but perfectly formed amount of 160 of your Earth pounds. Quite substantial, relatively speaking, as I have one of their 'take the mickey charge 'em 30%' £200 credit limit cards

I like to think of the amounts this way; How long would you have to work (in hours) to earn that amount of money. Allowing for taxes, somebody on minimum wage would have to work for 32 hours - or pretty much a whole week to earn £160.

With the 3 claims I've started - it would take 1,320 hours...

Good luck!

A&L: Settled - £6,200

HFC: Settled - £800

Shell Visa: Settled - £250

Egg: Settled - £700

Mint: Settled - £1200

RBS: Settled - £850

The opionions in this post are guaranteed to conform to the laws of physics, but pretty much nothing else...

Have had to hold off for a couple of days. Two reasons :

(1) I'm about £3 over my credit limit (after interest applied) and would rather commence action with my account in order (so as not to give them the excuse to come down heavy, going on other people's expereinces here) and, more importantly

(2) I can't activate my new card until I've paid the above off

Slight reprieve for Capital One, but only by a week or so
