Hi,

I sent my DPA letter to Smile on 15th May and so far haven't received my list of charges. After reading the threads, I have noticed that some people have been able to get their bank statements from 2004 online.

Could anyone let me know how to do this, as my account started in 2004

Thanks

Hi, Thanks for the reply Talula. I can see a link for recent statements online, but that only goes back 12 months. Just wondered if you can go back further than that.

I don't think you can go further back. It is worth getting the information from smile anyway as presumably you have asked for info on manual interventions as well, and that won't show on the statements.

I know it's frustrating waiting, but it will be worth it.;)

By the way, welcome to the forum and good luck (not that you'll need it).

I asked for copies of my statemenst as when I opened the account they said I could view up to 2 years on line - they messaged me back and said it would be 10 per page and 65 statements..... WHAT £650!!!

Hi

Don't panic - that's only if you use their regular "request a copy statement" service. If you want to receive a copy of all the data they hold on you, you need to send them a request for data held under the Data Protection Act - that way you only need to pay a single fee of £10.

Take a look at the FAQ on this forum for the full instructions on how to do this, suggested wording of letters etc. There's a very useful section full of bank document templates that you can adapt to fit your individual case - it really is worth taking a few days to read as much as you can before you proceed.

Good luck!

Glynis
