  3. you should send the letters Recorded... FWIW, i didnt have any problems getting my refunds out of GE Capital. A Prelim letter for each account was enough for them to roll over. i was VERY surprised, i must say.
  4. i got a considerable refund on my two GE Capital accounts for charges last month. July was overdue, i paid it a week late, and i paid the August bill on time. Payment has cleared into the accounts. i went to buy a dress at Debenhams yesterday, both cards decline. i've just spent 30 minutes going round in circle with some poor helpless girl in India (apparently all her supervisors left her and went home as it was after close...) who has delightfully informed me that it was their policy to put a block on my account until my next bill as my payment the previous month was late, EVEN THOUGH i am now up to date. surely this cannot be right/legal...?!
  5. Paypal told me that anything going overseas should be sent by courier if i want to be covered. they are an absolute joke.
  6. well ive emailed numerous times and nowt. there is a number on her account that vaguely resembles a telephone number, so i will give that a go next.
  7. you cant have a confirmed address in spain. trackable delivery is only applicable to paypal cover if the item is going to the uk or usa. ive just tried to report it to ebay its is already been 45 days, apparently. i only found out yesterday.
  8. i sold a tshirt over a month ago. recieved payment straight away, had a few emails with the buyer about how pleased she was to win, and i sent the item. a month later, paypal have taken the money with no explanation. i phoned them yesterday to be told a fradulant card was used for payment, and i have no protection whatsoever. this buyer now has my item, god knows where my money is AND SHE IS STILL BEING ALLOWED TO TRADE ON EBAY. what can i do? the buyer is in spain, and has fabulous feedback. i am livid and my paypal account is well into negative because of this.
  9. excellent, thankyou!
  10. yeah, i phoned smile and they said they weren't allowed to discuss it over the phone, but to send a secure message to Team 314 asking the question... i was just wondering how to word it really, so they were aware that they'd already refunded once.
  11. i have had a refund from Co-Op Visa, however since my initial letters, more charges have been applied. is there a standard letter that can be used to request this back? with my refund from smile, i sent them a secure message asking if the additional charges would be refunded, and they've processed it as a complaint so now have to wait while they "investigate it" yet again.
  12. i sent them a secure message about the outstanding charges, and recieved a standard reply by letter a week later so have to start from scratch again. at least you got your additional charges back straight away.

oh and i when i offered to make a payment towards the loan, i was told that the only way was to put the money into the old bank account, but that it would go toward paying off charges first and not the loan itself, thus causing me to default! :o

    Talula vs HSBC

i developed chronic RSI through my job and had to take a reduction in hours and job change due to this and have been unable to keep up my payments to HSBC for my managed loan. i asked to reduce the payment to something i can afford and they are flat out refusing to entertain the idea, saying its £80 a month or nothing. i've since discovered that they've added about £160 in fees due to three months missed loan payments. i've just spent an hour on the phone with them, going round and round in circles. as i got £625 back from smile yesterday, i gave them £80 towards one of the missed payments. i was questioned heavily over how i could afford this, when i told them it was through suing a bank they laughed and said "don't even think about trying that with us!" which of course has made me even more determined, considering about a third of the loan is due to charges when i banked with them... DPA letter going out tomorrow, i think....

they paid up in full today (£625) though they're refusing to pay the interest. unfortunately for them, they're about to get another letter, as since my first request they have taken close to another £300 in charges! survey, donation etc already done. ;-)

16 June - Letter Before Action Sent since my original letter, theyve applied abut £250 more in charges.
  18. now my next question is this paragraph here from the LBA: I calculate that you have taken £XXXXX plus £XXX which you have charged me in overdraft interest for the sum which you have taken. Total £XXXXX. I am enlosing a copy of the schedule of the charges which I am claiming. I have already sent you a copy of this in my original letter of the [XXDATE OF FIRST LETTERXX] what exactly is the schedule of charges? is it my spreadsheet? i wasn't aware that that was to be included in my prelim letter.. i just put the amount due in that.
  19. 27th May: Prelim letter for £292.76 sent 5th June: Letter received stating they would get back to me in 7 days 12th June: Apology for delay letter recieved asking for another 7 days...

has anyone actually had to do this with smile though? all the posts i've read they seem to have paid up before that stage. THREE THREADS MERGED!!! PLEASE STICK TO ONE THREAD FOR YOUR BANK ACTION - THE MORE THREADS THE LESS LIKELY YOURS WILL GET NOTICED/YOU WILL GET A REPLY!!
  22. they seem to have a thing of not closing accounts and then sending them overdrawn. the same thing has been happening with my co-op pathfinder account for 6 months now.. ive asked for it to be closed at least once a month and have been promised it would be, charges have been wiped, then they're reapplied each month...
