Hey there everyone,

You wont believe this little snippet.....My partner has just received this morning a letter from her branch of Lloyds that reads exactly this and I am not joking.

"Dear Mrs XXXXXX,

Your account details:xxxxxx xxxxxxxx,

We wanted to ley you know that we have been unable to make the payments that you arranged to come out of your account. This is because there was not enough money in your account to cover them

If we had paid them your account would have been £ XX,xxx:xx in credit."

( Yes folks my partner does have a five figure credit balance).

The letter goes on to say....." We only pay standing orders if there is enough money in your account to cover them. As there wasn't, we have had to charge you for this, and the details are below, We are happy to hold your standing oreders back until you have had a chanceto pay in enough money to cover them"

( If £ XX.xxx:xx isnt enough money I do not know what is)

" When we do not pay cheques, direct debits or standing orders because there is not enough money inyour account to cover the, we normally charge £ 35:00 for each item, as there were 3 items, we have had to charge you £105:00 for this."

You can guess the content of the letter I have written to her Bank manager about this, if I was him I would not like to read it.

This is one real good example of how Banks make the biggest cock-ups in history.

Its worth a place in the newspapers this one, it's incredible.

Please be aware of the threat of libel from banks when making such comments. We have to take this very seriously.

HI nicsussex,

I think you were right I posted 3 times , I think its sorted now a Mod has fixed it, thanks,.... you are dead right though you could not write what happened to my partner. I'm still not sure I'd believe it myself except we've got the letter, unbelieveable.

Whilst I understand the remote chance of libel action by the Bank in some cases............ in my partners case. The Bank has taken £105 from her account for no reason whatsoever, one has got to consider that this was not a computerised letter it was written & signed by the Senior Personal Account Manager of the Bank.

The Bank may say sorry it was a mistake, (and most probably will) but it is more than that, it is negligence, and their failure to proffer due care and diligence in the handling of her financial affairs.

She is one of these fortunate people who has never been overdrawn in her life... "I call her clever xxxxx"

They have taken this money without any authority or legitimate reason and reduced her CREDIT balance by £105 and unless she claims it back that would amount in the long run to edited

please observe site rules on posting comments that could be seen / or are libelous.
