Hi I'm new to all this and am trying to get my head round a few things -

Firstly before i notify Nationwide that I want my charges back should I open another account ( i did see the advice on parachute accounts) it's just that I have such a BAD BAD credit rating I'm worried about N/W closing my account - also has anyone been sucsessful getting their charges back before starting court proceedings (cause that just scares me! big wus I know) However I feel N/W have ripped me off and I am sending my SAR letter on the 31st - any advice in the simplest terms (cause it does take me a while to get the jist of things!) would be great!:-D

Hi Merlin,

Welcome to the forum. I haven't got the credit rating of an angel but I managed to open a NatWest Step account. It was very quick, easy and painless. Not sure about payouts before court claims are issued. Don't worry about it.

Follow all the instructions to the letter - FAQs & Step-by-step instructions

They are tried and tested - have you seen just how much CAG members have successfully reclaimed to date?

Read this before you start so you are aware of what you are getting yourself into:

IMPORTANT Things You REALLY Need To Know

N/W will try to intimidate/deter you all the way. Have faith in what you're doing - it's your money

If you need anymore advice or support just ask.

Kelly :)

Hi merlin and sound advice there, just a couple of things to note, when you are in the process of claiming YOUR money back if you are not 100% sure then ask away before you act on it, and always update your thread as you go along, this will help other peeps give advice looking at your history, good luck.

Just another quick question - I donn't think I was ever defaulted by N/W never recieved a letter - but when a D/D bounces does this mean N/W set a default against you?

I don't think so. Well, certainly not in my case. Maybe someone could verify that.

You can use Credit Expert from Experian to check you credit report for Default Notices. They offer a free 30 day trial, just remember to cancel it after.

Of course! They still have your money. You just don't need to ask for the removal of default notices.
