Hi All

This is my first post but I have read a lot of threads which have all been extremely useful.

I just have 1 question

I have been sent a letter offering me a settlement in full from the RBS, which was all relatively stress free, however they want me to sign an agreement which basically states I agree with all future charges to my accounts laid down in their published tariff and if I don’t then they may have to consider whether they would consider offering me any banking facilities.

What should I do?

Surly they are as good as admitting the charges were illegal but then want me to sign an agreement to confirm it is ok for them to take these illegal payments from my account.

Thanks to all the people who have posted in the past, thay have all been extremely useful.

Hello

I wrote back to them accepting the offer on a completly separate letter when I accepted my offer. That way, they can't sting you later on when you write another LBA in 2008 for charges incurred in 2007.

RBS Account 1: Won

RBS Account 2: Won

Capital One: Won

Capital One (Wifes Card): Won

RBS Account 2, round 2: Won

RBS PPI: Won

Yeah no point in bowing to their wishes - you are calling the shots. A simple letter accepting settlement for THIS claim.

Thanks matt and T4ff

I'll get the letter off today.

Going to encourage everyone at work to get on the bandwagon.

I think the RBS can afford to payout a few more customers they have (edit) money from out of their 9.2 billion pound profits!?!

Hi, I have been sent a similar offer form the Royal Bank of Scotland.

"Any charges that properly accrue in the future will be applied to your account in line with our published tarrif and in accordance with the bank.

They go onto say if I am unwilling ot accept the charges, they will need to consider if they will provide me with my existing banking facilities.

I want to accept the offer they have given me but without their terms and conditions. Can anyone give me advice on the wording I should put in the letter to say this.

thanks

Click on RBS 1 in my signature and at the end is my settlement letter. You can amend that slightly for your own purposes.

Something like this should be ok

Thank you for your letter dated xxxx. I wish to accept your offer of settlement on the above account. This will be on the basis of a full and final settlement of this complaint only.

Yours sincerely
