  1. I have had to resort to recording my boss's 'informal' chats with me as he is trying to get me to leave my job without following the correct ACAS guidelines. The first meeting left me very upset and feeling bullied so I emailed him with my concerns, he denied ever having the conversation. So I resorted to recording the rest. He now says he has decided to make me redundant but again has not followed any proper procedures for redundancy but said even if he does the outcome would be the same. He said it would be in my best interests to accept his offer or else my life will be miserable for months! His offer is nothing more than I am legally entitled to but he also wants me to sign a compromise agreement. I did start writing notes at one of the meetings and he arrogantly said 'you can write what you want but i'll deny everything'! Would these recordings be admissable in an employment trubunal? He is now making my life miserable because i rejected his offer.
  2. I have just tried both consumer direct and trading standards and they say they don't have such a thing. Any other ideas?
  3. I am looking for an independent Kitchen inspector in Glasgow to visit my newly installed kitchen and write a report on all its faults. Can anyone recommend one? Unfortunately the kitchen fitter I chose is not a member of any trade associations. We have contacted the furniture ombudsman but it will cost approx. £1000 for them to send a person up from Newcastle. Alternatively does anyone know a reputable kitchen fitter who would be willing to put something in writing for me?
  4. Hi, I have been sent a similar offer form the Royal Bank of Scotland. "Any charges that properly accrue in the future will be applied to your account in line with our published tarrif and in accordance with the bank. They go onto say if I am unwilling ot accept the charges, they will need to consider if they will provide me with my existing banking facilities. I want to accept the offer they have given me but without their terms and conditions. Can anyone give me advice on the wording I should put in the letter to say this. thanks
  5. Bank: RBS Amount Claimed: £2,842 Amount offered: £2,412 The Story: Sent first letter off claiming back charges 6th Feb, heard nothing so sent 2nd letter saying that i would take it to court if I did not hear from the 22nd Feb and the next day I recieved a written offer of £2,412. Theconditions are - "Any charges that properly accrue in the future will be applied to your account in line with our published tarrif....should you be unwilling to accept any such charges, then we may need to consider if we are prepared to continue to provide you with your existing banking facilities. Instead we can offer you a simple account that does not offer borrowing facilities or other services that can result in charges". Shall I accept this offer but not their terms? Does anyone have a template letter I can send that says this in a more legal matter? I am happy with the offer even though it is not for the full amount as it was very easy to do and I would encourage everyone to claim back their charges.
  6. I am planning on claiming just over £3,000 but notice if I have to go down the court route I can only claim upto £750 in the scottish small claims court, what is my other option if I want to go ahead and claim the full amount? You mentioned small chunck would I break down the £3,000 into 4 seperate claims of £750? Can you or someone please advise me on the best option?
