Hi,

After reading lots on this site, I decided to start the process of reclaiming charges on my Egg card. Here is where I'm up to:

05/02/2007 We sent "Preliminary Approach For Repayment" letter

13/02/2007 They sent a letter denying that the charges were unlawful, and saying "You now have six months...to take your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service..."

22/02/2007 We sent "Credit or Store Card - Letter Before Action" letter

Hi,

After reading lots on this site, I decided to start the process of reclaiming charges on my Egg credit card. Here is where I'm up to:

05/02/2007 Sent "Preliminary Approach For Repayment" letter

10/02/2007 They sent "Putting Things Right" letter which was a 100% offer with conditions

12/02/2007 We sent "Rejection of Settlement Offer (conditions attached)" letter

17/02/2007 They sent amended "Putting Things Right" 100% offer letter without the offending conditions in the acceptance form!

18/02/2007 We sent their completed without conditions acceptance form

01/03/2007 They phoned to ask why we'd rejected the conditions, but when we said "No conditions or it's court" they agreed to remove them all as requested! They will write to confirm.

  • 2 weeks later...

02/03/2007 They sent an amended 100% offer letter without the conditions

05/03/2007 We sent their completed without conditions acceptance form

10/03/2007 They sent a confirmation of payment letter

12/03/2007 I checked my bank account and the money had gone in, so this is finished. We won :-)

The amount of this claim was (only) £40.00, and we received £40.00.
