Hi. I am not completely sure about a sum of money that I owe. Recently, Nationwide Debt Recovery have sent me a letter stating that I must pay the arrears on account, otherwise a default will be registered and my debt handed over to a DCA. Can I make a CCA request on the above even if they are only collecting arrears??

Any help appreciated!

Yes, send a cca request. This will stop them pursuing you while you check out the total outstanding. For that you will need to send an S.A.R - (Subject Access Request) to the original creditor. You may also find that they have applied unlawful charges to your account that can be reclaimed.

Don't forget to enclose a £1 cheque or postal order for the CCA and £10 for the SAR.
