Barclays leaving it a bit late... Court appearance tomorrow

Does anyone have any advice on what to take?

 

Keith Jeremiah at Barclays has previously offered 50% of the claim as 'goodwill' that we rejected.

 

We have had no communication with Barclays for a couple of months now

 

Has anyone had any experiences of ACTUAL court appearances by Barclays?

Nope. They've always paid up before court, except when case got past under their radar.

 

You can do 2 things:

 

a) appear tomorrow, hope they have forgotten you, get default judgment.

b) phone them, and remind them of hearign tomorrow, and let them panic to get you your money on time. Don't give an inch, it's 100% charges + fee + interest (have the total figure ready), no confidentiality, money in account before end of day today.

No sooner had I posted the message the phone rang. It was Barclays Bank.

 

How would we calculate interest. They have offered the amount plus fee but we have not asked for interest yet. I would like to get the most out of them???

from my understanding of these thing, if you have not asked for interest yet you can only expect the 8% that the court can assign. I beleive this to be a flat 8% of the total not compound. But I am sure others with better knowledge can confirm.

 

Remember the case is not closed til you have the cash, not a cheque.

We have recieved an email from them, we need to reply urgently...
