Quick Bit of Advice

Hello everyone - new to forum and in need of urgent advice. I have read the FAQs and I have been a customer of Abbey for in excess of 25 years. Once or twice a year I do go over drawn and get charged through the nose. On my recent statement I have been charged £50 for going over my overdraft limit and them paying a DD! I would guess I have been charged between £500 to £600 in this way over the past years (though I don't have all my statements - only those going back 1 yr to 18 months). Where do I start? What are my chances with Abbey as I hear they can be difficult? Can I combine a written request for a refund of the money they have just taken with a SAR? Many thanks

Hi and Welcome Murada, you have every success of winning, you may not even have to have much of a fight, they seem to be making gestures of goodwill at the moment, read the step by step instructions at the link on my signature and this should help, any questions, come back and ask

Thanks for this Lula - would you advise asking for an immediate repayment of the £50 they have just taken or just put in the SAR?

no harm in asking is there, you may well find that once you send the letter to them, that they will cancel the charges anyway, but a phone call might take it off for you

hiya kia here make sure after youve sent off your S.A.R that you read the microfiche thread as they will try to send you that letter to fob you off so if you know its coming you can be perpared cause i wasnt and flapped when the letter came and didnt know what to do and then discivered theyve done it to everyone so wasnt bothered about it anymore good luck with your fight will advise where i can xxKia
