quick question first, did you have an advantage gold account? If you did then you cannot claim. I have posted a guide to help you distinguish the charges. The advice on claiming over £5k is to start with those from 2000 and work forwards until you hit that mark. Once you win that battle go for the remaining ones.

According to our statements we had an Advantage Premier Account. Is that the same thing? What is the problem with Advantage Gold Accounts? For the last couple of years we have only had a current plus account so at least we can claim some money back.

no that is a penalty charge, so unpaids, referral fees, card misuse all are penalty charges so yes you can claim them back. Only thing you cannot claim is Advantage Gold fees

I have got all of my earlier statements and although I have applied for a DPA SAR am just wondering whether as my claim is going to be quite substantial whether I can start the next process of the claim now for the first couple of years?

  • 1 month later...

I've just been rechecking the charges that I calculated and have realised that in my Pre-lim and LBA I have listed to missed some charges off. I have received no written communication from NatWest at all but I know they have received all the letters as I've spoken to our Account Manager. Am just about to file MCOL and am wondering what I should do. Do I need to send a new list of charges to NatWest or do I just proceed with the new amount anyway and not bother?

No you can claim everything up to the point you file at MCOL stage. Any after that point will be for claim number 2, if there are more.
