I've had a quick search round and don't think this has been done before - apologies if it has.

You know those songs and films when they come on the radio or telly and you just want to go AAAAAARRRRGGGHHH!!?? Here are my tops, that I'd be happy to never, ever hear or see again as long as I live! Apologies to younger CAGrs, I'm a bit middle-aged and you might not have heard of some of them! ;)

1. I Will Always Love You - Whitney Houston (appalling warbling din)

2. Everything I Do I Do For You - Bryan Adams (overplayed soppy bilge)

3. Save Your Love - Rene and Renate (words fail me!)

4. Lady in Red - Chris de Burgh (the bane of every wedding reception - pass the sick bucket)

5. The Birdie Song - The Tweets (ditto - except I just want to punch whoever wrote it)

6. Superman - Black Lace (ditto)

7. The Wind Beneath My Wings - Bette Midler (maudlin dirge)

8. She - Charles Aznavour (oh, no, no, please!)

9. Forever and Ever - Demis Roussos (SCREEEEAAAAAM!)

10. Fight For This Love - Cheryl Cole (shut up and buy a kebab)

11. Do You Believe - Cher (sigh)

12. Bright Eyes - Simon and Garfunkel (dead rabbits anyone?)

13. Amore - Julio Iglesias (used to be on in my Dad's car on the Terry bloody Wogan show every morning in 1982 when he used to give me a lift to work - utterly excruciating)

14. Saviour's Day - Cliff Richard (in fact anything by Sir Stiff is enough to have me running screaming - ugh!)

15. My Diane - The Bachelors (local radio played this for my birthday in 1973 when my Mum had written in and asked for Slade - sheer mortification)

16. True - Spandau Ballet (just awful - conjures up 80's nightclubs and blokes with mullets and rolled up sleeves)

17. I Should Be So Lucky - Kylie Minogue (the start of the horror that was Stock, Aitken and Waterman)

18. Billie Jean - Michael Jackson (yes, I'm probably the only person in the universe who remained completely immune to his entire career)

19. Tragedy - The Bee Gees (it sure is)

20. I've Had the Time of my Life - Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes (rubbish song, rubbish film)

1. Dirty Dancing (like watching paint dry - why does everyone assume all women love this film? I can't stand it!)

2. Grease (ditto, although the music was marginally better)

3. The Sound of Music (no, no and no)

4. Arthur (allegedly a comedy - almost split my sides yawning)

5. Brief Encounter (boring/overrated/ridiculous accents)

6. Bridget Jones Diary (absolute rubbish)

7. Pride and Prejudice (stupefyingly dull, including Colin Firth's silly trousers)

8. Abba The Movie (was hauled to the pictures by my Mum in 1978 to see this - thank God for my box of Meltis Fruits is all I can say)

9. Terminator (testosterone laden rubbbish)

10. Rambo (ditto except worse)

And my absolute hate record of all time is

Dub be good to me by Beat International.

This record used to have me screaming at the radio every time I heard it.

It's some stupid woman singing about how it's okay for the bloke she's in love with to sleep with whoever he wants to, and saying she's rather have a piece of him than nothing - "Just be good to me." Pathetic. You just want to give her a slap and tell her to get some self-respect.

Hate it, hate it, hate it.

Worse film I have ever seen was "Lenny" about the American stand up comedian Lenny Bruce. Dustin Hoffman, what were you doing? This film in black and white is all about his fall into complete and utter degradation - forcing his wife into threesomes, falling in the gutter, prison, and so on. I went expecting a comedy!!!! I was so depressed by the end of it I couldn't face going out to eat afterwards. It really was that bad.

A few songs I really dislike are:

1. Secret Smile - Semisonic (I quite liked some of their others)

2. Sailing - Rod Stewart

3. Mull of Kintyre - Sir Paul & Wings

4. Vienna - Ultravox

5. Hi Ho Silver Lining - Jeff Beck

6. Poison Arrow - ABC

Plus anything by Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Leona Lewis and the rest of the wailing voiced female singers, anything by UB40....ooohh I really don't like them...oh gosh I could go on forever!

I agree about Dirty Dancing..utter tripe, I couldn't even stand to watch it to the end. Oh and An Officer & A Gentleman, a friend put it on as she thought I'd enjoy it as much as she did, after about 30 minutes I fell asleep!

Hmm, songs I hate (in no particular order).

1. Brimful of Asha (what the hell was that all about??) - no idea

2. Bad Moon Rising - Creedende Clearwater Revival

3. Oops ups side your head - no idea

4. Most things by Prince (I'm sorry but I just don't understand the squeal appeal)

5. Take my breath away - Berlin. Ruined a perfectly good soundtrack.

6. He's going to marry me - Dolly Parton

7. Anything by Kate Bush. Again not understanding the squeal appeal.

8. Any song where Mark Owen (Take That) sings more than the backing vocal. Poor soul seems to think he can sing!
