Need some urgent legal reasoning whether the titled act would be applicable in a leasehold contract between a consumer (i.e. person, not entity) and a landlord? lt is an important issue as many small shop owners have entered private leasehold agreement with landlords, which gives the landlord all rights, but, the tenant as a consumer, rather, than a commercial/professional entity, no rights at all.

My first thoughts are that the leasehold agreements are business agreements. The small business owners may have taken them on an individual capacity as a sole traders. They would therefore be business leases.

I really do appreciate all those 'thank you' emails - I'm glad I've been able to help. Apologies if I haven't acknowledged all of them.

You can also ding my gong if you prefer. :)
