What happens now???

Hi, I purchased some goods from a high street retailer using my debit card. When i checked my statement a few days later the funds had come off my account. Anyway I get a phonecall from the store manager asking me to bring in proof that the money had come off my account. I took this to him and he explained that when my transaction was processed the modem in the store used for authorising transactions was not working and therefore my bank reclaimed the charge for the goods back from the stores bank. The problem I have is that my account still shows the money has been debited but I have this manager from the store chasing me to get it all sorted as he said my bank will not speak to him. What do i do, is it my job to resolve this or is it there problem, many thanks:confused:

that is sounding dogey i would see my own bank first see what they have to say if they have reclaimed the charges they would tell you.

i kno some stores have auto autheristion but i think tread carfully
