How to spot a [problem] (letters):

1. You have won a prize draw that you have not entered. If you have not entered, you have not won (but see 3 also).

2. You need to pay an admin fee.

3. It is addressed to "you or someone in your household". Surely they know who entered?

4. Return address. Usually foreign or a PO Box.

5. They will not provide info to let you check their credentials if you ask.

6. Quality. Some are quite slick, others are poor. The slick ones usually involve a depiction of a cheque with some improbable amount written on it.

7. If it looks too good to be true, it probably is.
