Hello All I am recovering charges for the third and final time (I hope) anyway I followed aother threads/advice and sent a prelim, hardship letter and expenditure. I received an obviously standadrd letter within four days saying 'Sorry ... will investigate within four weeks etc' I am in hardship so do I wait the 14 days as prelim says before contacting them again?

Once you have sent your prelim, the chances are you will receive a standard letter, which looks like the one you received.

Did you send any proof of hardship?

You should phone Halifax to check that they are dealing with your claim under hardship.

They then have 8 weeks from when a claimant informs the bank that they believe they are a hardship case.

If they go over that time, you should contact the FOS.
