My dad is having his classic motorcycle restored by a restoration company.

Earlier this year, my dad was presented with an invoice that stated it was the final invoice for parts and labour to complete the restoration. My dad promptly paid this in advance.

Last week, the guy said he needed more money to finish the job.

Understandablely, considering the invoice clearly stated that is was the final invoice to complete the restoration work, my dad is quite upset.

Is there a legal position on something like this? And a letter that can be sent?

Many thanks

Why pay in advance! Have you asked them to explain the additional costs following the FINAL invoice? cant comment until we have full facts. other than it would appear to be a fixed price for the total works, which you you paid so that should the contract, anything in writting to that effect.

Do you ask for any additional work to be done?
