Dont get her to sign the CCA requests as there have been cases of photoshop happy DCAs copying and pasting the signature in to document to make them look real. If Needs to be have all her mail transfered to your address as a c/o address

How about offering your daughter a break from her surrondings and offering her sum time at home. even if it is for a few days just so that you can keep more of an eye on her.

 

I am a bit concerned about one line you have said But the missing drugs is making me very edgy. I am hoping that you dont mean that her flatmate mate is stealing her medication.

 

I use to have a pass book with nationwide, I will admitt it is several years ago now, But if i wanted money out i would need to sign a piece of paper and they would check the signature on the computer and on the book, on my book i had an invisible signature that would only show up under a specail lite, if the signature did not match one or both of these then the money was not allowed to be drawn out.

 

Could your daughter ahve given her flat mate permission to act on her behalf and get money out. Is there also a possiblity that you can get hold of the flatmates passport so you can see if she has traveled any time after any of the dates that your daughters credit card bill says she booked tickets for? I know that sounds sneeky but you would just be looking for now. You will then be able to ask that the police ask to see the passport as evidence for themselves.

 

Personally l would escort your daughter to the police station and stay with her for medical reasons then you can always produce the evidence you have found.

 

I am not suprised there are no CC statements since Dec last year as i think your daughters flatmate may be using her card for all reasons, Is your daughter still in possession of her card if so maybe moving it from her accomidation will help.

 

Well good luck with everything and if you need a hand with getting your daughter flatmate i no a few heavies that would be willing to help for free. Yes l do know it wont help much but it is just for a laugh suggestion.

You are spot on with it being therapeutic. I found it very helpful talking to a complete stranger about sum problems i was having years ago with my ex. I felt a hell of a lot better afterwards and it showed as i had a spring in my step.

It is good that both CC cards have been destroyed and I still feel it is strange that this person has been travelling alot to belfast. Do you remember if any of the dates could be linked with the dates on your daughters statements.

 

I dont know if you would be able to do this but you could always contact the airline the friend used and ask to see the boarding passes and tickets as one of these may be able to tell you the way the friend paid and may even give numbers for the CC the friend used. As i said i dont know if you will be able to do that if not maybe the police would be able to.

 

I also think that if there are any other charges that show up thet you feel are strange like internet shopping then you should investigate that as well.

 

I think offering your daughter a few days away would do your daughter a lot of good or even taking her for a walk to the park she seems like she could do with a break from her staying in on her own.

that is a good point about the flat mate.

 

I feel that getting your daughter out of the flat mates way would be good for her as tiglet send stuff being independant. The best thing you can do is move your daughter out of there pronto and get everything away from the flat mate and talk to the police urgently.

Well daughter is out of hospital for now (she was in for about 2 weeks with a dreadful infection- she is prone to these) Glad to here she is out and just in time for christmas.- needs surgery which she is disinclined to have ( resetting collar bone which never healed properly and a new fistula needs making for dialysis (although goodness knows where they will do it this time?)- she has had enough:( Well she might come round to the idea of surgery. My father in law has got to have a lot of srgery and he keeps putting it off.

 

Housemate is leaving very shortly - like today! will not believe until she is on the plane:D Is this for good or just for christmas?

 

have spoken to the police - not as useful as I thought Well what a suprise. Maybe they dont want the work this close to christmas.

 

still waiting for credit card statements for the last year - both MBNA and Barcalycard prevaricating Give them a swift kick in the backside that should give them something to compalin about, Barclaycard have involved Mercers Oh how nice of them. another person to argue with. - have requested that all three stop harrasment of my very poorly daughter. That would be lovely if they do but l dont think they will based on other threads about Barclay card/ Mercers. (I am currently itching to have a pop at any or all of them through the court system and or the press.) I would use the press as it is more embarrassing for the but just hold off for now.

 

Daughter has written a letter giving them the right to talk and write to me. Thats good now she does not have to deal with anything which will help her recovery

 

Doctor will be wrting a letter to both companies saying how ill my daughter is and that she will never work again, I wouldnt be suprised if she doesnt also require them to stop harrassing my daughter. That is a good idea. the doctor might be listened to as she has more knowledge of what the medical condition does to a person but l will warn you the companys may write back and tell the doc she is wrong believing they have more medical knowledge than a doctor.

 

Have still done nothing with the bank - seem to be running round to and from hospital, working and trying to be all things to every one. You may want to take everything on at once but unless you have the energy then dont. You will have a few days over christmas to deal with the bank and write letters so maybe you could do it all then.

 

Eventually we will get it all under control.

Yep and l am saying the same thing. Just because three companys for 5 different account have said they have not cca l have said bye bye to £3,123.78. This has taken time but we have got there.

Dont worry once they have that then they are breaking the communications act if they contine to telephone your daughter or you.

 

The Fact they thing they can place a charging order on the property she rents is very amussingas i would love to be a fly on the wall when they try and get the court order. God what it would be like to be a fly at times.

They might decide to back off once the police are involved as the police will hopefully contact them.

 

If not then you may be able to take them two court over the harassment but l wouldnotbe certain on that paul would be the best person to advise you on that.

Rite you have obviously been rather busy since this morning. I am suprised the post man was able to carry the package .

 

Now with the statements.

 

Is there any way you could prove that your daughter was unable to look after her own affairs or that the haouse mate had been going threw your daughters post?

 

One thing l am also thinking is could the housemate have rang up the card company pretending to be your daughter and requesting a copy of her pin number?

 

Its just what l am thinking is they would need to do something about these fraudlent payments made if you can prove that they were made while she was incapable of making them or in hospital.

 

One thing l suggest you do is write to them and ask if there was ever a second pin requested as that would be evidence especially if it was done while you daughter was in hospital having dialysed or in hospital at all.

 

Now if you think/no you are going to have no luck with this then you need to find out as much about the hous mate as possible.

 

Is she back from her vacation yet?

I remember you said she was moving out after christmas. Has she actually done this yet?

 

The reasin why l am asking is because if she is not there and has not moved out the maybe you could look in the shared areas to find out id there is any proof of what has been happening.

 

A chest of drawers in the hallway my hold some evidence of past ppl she has done this to. This would help your case.

 

One thing you need to do is advise your daughter that she does need to go to the police as she will get away with it if not.

 

Your daughter could then have the police prosecute the housemate on her behalf they may even have a part of the prosecution put in where the housemate has to pay the money back including interest which l think is at 8% as well as all interest paid because of the fraudlent activity.

Have you thought of buying her a new mobile and having the one that she uses at yours so you can monitor the phone calls more.

 

I no you said they would stop the calls but that might not be long term.

 

Now how about having all your daughters mail sent to your house this will stop any further problems as l think the housemate may have been going threw your daughters post. It would explain a way she had access to the pin number of her cards.

 

Something you could also do is have yourself appointed as her power of attorny. This way if they police do not do anything then you could sue the house mate yourself.

 

Or if that is not going to be possible then what you need to do is start the legal process for your daughter and just do everything, You could also partly repersent her in court but she will need to be there and maybe need to speak to the courts herself saying that she wants you to act on her behalf.

 

Good ldea that you have various ppl dropping buy regularly as that will make the housemate aware that you are concerned for her welfare and will hopefully make the housemate think again.

I feel that specail branch may have a few more important things to deal with than a fraud case. As for the witness protection.....................Whatever. Who do they need protecting from your daughter, ROFL .

 

Sorry l dont mean to sound like l am being rude about your daughter but l dont think pauline is all there so to speak. I have heard some ppl come out with some strange things but this one is very ammusing.

 

These transactions on the barclay card l am glad you had time to travel to belfast and spend money on your daughters card while she was fighting for her life or being operated on. Nice to see u have your priorities right.

 

Now on to the serious matters.

 

I am glad the police are willing to take your statement now, as far as i am concerned it has taken long enough, they should have done it in the first place.

 

I would be dragging your daughter out of there Now even if it is for a break from the house cause l am sure she will be glad for it.

 

I would also try and get some type of injunction out on her for your daughters saftey. This may sound scary but you may have enough evidence to do this.

I thing you will find that buy law they HAVE to supply these documents as they have been requested these and been paid the required payment but as l am not an expert then l will get this person to look in for you.

 

If they dont want to cooperate with the police then it is fine. Maybe some public embarrassement might do the trick.

Something you could also do is re write to scotcall and inform them that you not that they are breaking OFT guidelines on debt collection and he part they are breaking is the part where they are refusing to stop action on a account when they have been told a dispute is on the account.

 

As a result of this unless they write to you confirming they are closing the account and passing it back to mercers within 7 days of the date on the letter/ date of recipt then you will be forced to report them to TS and the OFT.

 

They might sort themself out.

I dont know if the hole in the wall actually has cameras built in to them.

 

They for security reasons need to keep the footage for at least 24 hrs but l would not know.

 

Maybe you could ask at the banks what there procedures are. You may need to explain it is for a fraud case but they should be helpfull.

My god that did nottake long for her to pack.

 

It takes me about a day to pack for 3 of us.

 

I am glad your daughter can now start getting on with her life with the horrible partner/housemate has left. She did not sound all there to be honest and especially when you said she started threating your daughter and stuff.

Do you have contact details for Pauline?

 

If so l would advise that you make the courts etc aware that the debt does not belong to your daughter but to her.

 

MAybe what you should do is contact the council and ask if you can have the council tax side of things removed from your daughter. If she has paid the debt then she should not be realiable for someone elses debt.

Maybe the council could then give you all the info about the non payment and find out if a liability order ahs been granted.

 

If not contacting the courts would be the next best thing.

 

You may need to explain the situation about your daughter being ill but they should be able to help.

 

You might be then able to have any orders set aside sue to your daughters in ablitity to take care of her affairs especially if it was at a time when she was in hospital. Also if you could prove to them that if your daughter was aware of the forms she would have dealt with it but with her being unable to do that then she should not be held responsible. You may also be able to explain to the courts, as l think it would be classed as reasonable evidence due to the facts behind it, About pauline and ask that this information be used as part of the order to set aside.
