Bank charges court case?

Hi people,

 

This is my first post here and I'm following the forum step by step instructions on how to reclaim my bank charges but...

 

I got to the stage where I sent them a threatening letter as they failed to reply to my claim. Anyway, my claim is for nearly £5000 in charges alone but they sent me a letter saying 'we cannot resolve your claim untill the outcome of a major court case concerning bank charges claims'

 

Has anyone else had this letter? If so, does anyone know when this case will be reslolved and what is curently happening with the thousands of bank charge claims on hold?

Hi Richie, it is a standard letter, follow through with the instructions on your bank charges and file at court and wait to see what happens, by the time it gets to exchange of the AQ the case might be over, it might also help if you start a thread in the bank section that you are reclaiming from, Basically, work to your timescales, not theirs, good luck

Welcome to the site.

We are advising that claimants carry on as usual using the updated advice within the forums.

The test case is sheduled to start in Mid January and last into February.Many courts are ordering stays but not all.

Decisions rely on individual cases and the OFT have issued guidelines as part of waivers being given out.

Much depends on your own circumstances.

There are categories that allow greater scope for the claim to proceed these include Hardship cases,Business bank claims,and Credit penalty charge claims.

Would be a good idea to start your own thread in your bank group.

Also read up on information about claims that have been stayed/The test case.If you have questions after reading all that feel free to ask.
