  1. ately been added to the account were being ignored. I have written to British Telecom and the meat of their response was; "The Debt Collection Agency (DCA) admin charge is only applicable to those customers who. despite numerous reminders, do not pay their telephone bills and are then passed to an external debt collection agency to pursue. The administration cost is not a charge in respect of BT supplying a service, but is to compensate BT for the costs incurred as a result of referring the account to a Debt Collection Agency. The pertcentages applied will represent the lowest DCA commission rates in place for these debt types
  2. Help! I have been in dispute with British Telecom since March 2009 over charges of £207.00 they imposed for broadband cancellation charges for a service I did not request. I have written numerous letters to them requesting proof of this supposed verbal agreement. Originally they requested I make a payment of £10 for a copy of the recording, I replied in writing to say I had no intention of paying for a copy as it was for them to prove to me a verbal contract existed (which I know it doesn't). They then replied saying they couldn't provide the recording as they didn't have it! The last letter I wrote to them was to state once more I did
  3. y complaint, that is, the complete termination of my landline service with British Telecom and the problems that followed. I will now present evidence true to your records that this is no fault of my own for two main reasons: i. The Direct Debit I had set up to pay the outstanding balance on this account was cancelled by an employee of British Telecom without my instruction. ii. The paper bills I was paying for to be sent were in actual fact sent to a bogus address and not the one provided by myself when the initial order was made, and not the one at which the actual services being provided
  4. 1. Cancellation of my Direct Debit by British Telecom for Landline Service It has now become apparent that some time in February 2009 your colleagues in Customer Services cancelled the direct debit I had set up to pay the balance due on this account. May I also highlight that until this point there had been no missed or late payments on my account and that all of the excessive debits from my account by British Telecom were honoured on time and in full.
  5. he Sales Team. Please note that I was therefore short of £124.99 to British Telecom for almost three months – an amount that would have accrued a healthy level of interest had it been in my bank account and not property of British Telecom. Non-delivery of BT Vision Equipment I was given an initial delivery date for my BT Vision Equipment which did not arrive. After calling several of your colleagues in the Sales Team it proved impossible for them to track where the equipment had been delivered to and no electronic signature of its delivery was found. Therefore, a second, later delivery date had to be scheduled for a re
  6. on charge of £124.99 on my landline account when I commenced service with British Telecom, in spite of pleading with several of your colleagues that a line was already in place and active in my property. To dispute this charge, I had to make several telephone calls to your customer services department and submitted a formal letter of dispute to you at the above address. I received no written or telephone response to my complaint and after waiting some time, I had to again telephone one of your colleagues in customer services. Your colleague informed me that the dispute had been closed and that I had ignored several messages left
  7. ttockses to be quite honest. I have just written a 2500 word complaint to British Telecom regarding their SHODDY service but I need advice to make sure I stay on the ball and GET THEM! Let me copy the letter here, obviously deleting my personal details to see if anyone can shed any light - if nothing else it is worth reading as it is so laughable. RE: High Level Complaint – Please Forward to Management Account Number GB **** **** Dear British Telecom, It is with regret that I must submit to you a complaint of the highest level with regards to my contract with British Telecom which commenced
  8. if, 'Buzby' was an employee of Post Office Telephones - no connection with British Telecom at all. I am pleased to hear that. I am able to substantiate all the statements that I have made about BT.

  11. d is from ScotCall saying o owe £57.56 and the creditor is listed as: CCS/BRITISH TELECOM 109. Having not lived at the address for over 12 months now I was surprised at this and having read some info on here I hesitated before contacting ScotCall. Instead I have contacted BT and they have confirmed I owe nothing for the telephone accounds I have had in my last 3 houses! I did ask if BT could post me confirmation of this on paper but the polite indian lady on the phone declined but gave me the dates and amounts of the last two payments I made which closed off the account. These were £22.76 and £20.67 made on 30th May 08 and 26th June 0
  12. yes the contract continues. On the basis of what you say, British Telecom have reached their contract to you. They contract may disclaim any consequential loss. However they have also acted negligently towards you and so if your losses are not recoverable on the basis of the contract, they may well be recoverable in negligence. I think that you should hold off accept seen anything yet. Write to them and tell them that their offer is noted but not accept it at this point. You are waiting for your line to be reconnected, to see if your broadband connection will still work and generally to understand the full extent of your losses. When you

  14. tum-filled pieces of distended rectum - incompetents of the highest order. British Telecom - ******s though they are - shine like brilliant beacons of success, in the filthy puss-filled mire of your seemingly limitless inadequacy. Suffice to say that I have now given up on my futile and foolhardy quest to receive any kind of service from you. I suggest that you do likewise, and cease any potential future attempts to extort payment from me for the services which you have so pointedly and catastrophically failed to deliver - any such activity will be greeted initially with hilarity and disbelief - although these feelings will quickl
  15. he forced British Leyland to shrink drastically, privatized British Steel, British Telecom and Rolls-Royce, and dramatically downsized British Coal after a yearlong face-off with the miners union. At the same time, she deregulated the City of London’s financial-services business on a supposed “level-playing-field” basis, allowing foreign banks to dominate it and effectively putting the 200-year-old London merchant banks out of business. Thatcher’s restructuring of British manufacturing, together with her tax cuts and government spending restraint, put Britain on a growth path that lasted a generation. Even after her Labour Part
  16. m and that if after 24 hours from receipt of my fax I would report them to British Telecom who provide my line. To my mind and I have yet to investigate this further these calls constitute a nuisance which I am sure is contrary to the Telecommunications Act.
  17. ght about call centres being filthy diesease pits. i used to work for british telecom, and their call centre was absolutley filthy. it was hoovered round the edges of the work area only, once a week, desks were never cleaned, and we were never provided with stuff to clean them ourselves with. it was that bad, that you could go to work clean at the beginning of the day, but by the end of your shift, your hands would be black and filthy from all the congealed muck on the desks, chairs, PCs and phones. the floors in the work area would be littered with crisps, chewing gum/sweets, paper, used tissues, mucus, spit, tab ends and other "natur

  22. n the Warsall County Court in Case No: 7WJ 02610 (Bond (nee Ferihough) -v- British Telecom) the Court has already ruled that the payment of £4-50 is not a penalty insofar as it is a core term of the service contract. Hi there well I certainly don`t appreaciate being accused of being juvanile.secondly It is not a case of British trouble It`s a matter of this I have two phones on one account and recieve one bill for both phones. But they want to charge me £7 per month to pay for someone to do their job.The reason I don`t pay by direct debit is for this reason:-Any company can make mistakes and as this site proves they often do.If this occ
