  1. Thanks Stan. Any idea how I make my thread show won? I have edited it but it doesnt show!
  2. GE MONEY PO Box 700 Leeds LS99 2BD Always best to start your own thread and then post the questions in there and people can keep an eye on your claim
  3. A little addition in case anyone else has this prob.... When I was claiming back my charges on Morgan Stanley, i noticed in June 04 that my interest doubled. I made a note to query this when I was successful in reclaiming my charges, which I now have been. I just phoned them and they said the promotional offer is automatically removed when you miss a payment but if I had phoned at the time it would have been reinstated the following month!!! I asked how I would have known this and he couldnt give me an answer. He has now reinstated the promotional offer wef tomorrow (I had 4.9% APR for the life of the balance transfer). I also requested a copy of my signed application, which he is arranging for me. So.....if it doesnt state anywhere that I can have it reinstated after my missed payment I am going to write a letter of complaint to them asking for the interest back they have taken on months where I had no late payment fee. May not stand a cat in hells chance but I think it is worth a go being as he has reinstated it now. Incidentally, when I keyed in my account number I did not get the automated option, I was put straight through to an operator....I wonder whether this is due to the fact they adapt your account when you have made a claim against them!!! May be a coincidence. The guy kept putting me on hold so seems like he kept asking for advise on this one! Watch this space!
  4. Hi folks, When I was claiming back my charges on Morgan Stanley, i noticed in June 04 that my interest doubled. 5. At least you know before you send it! I sent all my prelims off with just the charges and then had to send LBAs revising my amounts! Just think of the experience you will get using the spready lol.
  6. At least you got the charges though. Sometimes seeing the claim increase with the CCI can make us a bit greedy. Congratulations. Enjoy your spending!!!
  7. yes Brad you do. I made the mistake of not doing that on some of mine but it was confirmed to me that I should do that. You're welcome for the help. I was pretty much asking the same questions as you when I started. I havent attempted my bank ones yet as thought the credit and store cards were easier.
  8. Letter received today from Creation saying they will pay me the full charges levied and £184.19 in interest that has been taken on the charges as they do not agree with my figures or the justification of the amount of interest I was claiming. They also assumed I would take it and enclosed the cheque. Was going to battle on for full CCI but have since read the dispute going on the site at the mo about trying to still get CCI when all charges have been offered so I think I will accept their offer now. I guess this means I have won then.
  9. Looks fine to me Brad, make sure you also put separate lines of interest when you dont have any charges. Just out of interest, are your late fees definitely £18.00? mine are only £15 going back to 01/02 and they didnt go up to £18 until 03. When you get offers you may want to refuse them all if you want the full amount (rather than accept as part payment) there is currently a debate going on about when they offer full charges and just going to court for the CCI. This is your choice though. Have you read the thread? P.S. Love the motto in your signature!
  10. Just read it. It seems clear to me that you were offering your opinion and DT decided what to do! Problem is now, this whole situation will just add to the confusion for us all who have only just managed to get to grips with it. Keep smiling, there are a lot of us that value your opinion and will do no matter what.
  11. http://www.zen122856.zen.co.uk/CompoundSheet_v1.9.xls This is only for claiming CCI from banks you cant use it for credit/store cards but it works out the APR from your monthly amount when you enter it, so is handy to have until you need to use it for banks. P.S. Ive linked in to your current thread so probably best to stop hijacking this one or you may get told off! Feel free to PM me if you get stuck with the spreadsheet
  12. ?????? Who's disputing your advise?
  13. Hi Brad, I think you need to take the and out of compounded and contractual interest as if I understand it correctly the contractual interest is compounded so they shouldnt be noted as 2 separate things. The interest on some of mine is also higher than the charges. It depends how far back the charges are as to whether the interest is higher.
  14. lol Doo! Brad - Hopefully you followed the thread I gave you in another thread. Doo - If you copy the http address of the link you want to insert, then go to the thread where you want to post the link and click the icon of the world with a pic of a link under it and then in URL paste the http info that you copied it will insert the link to be followed. Hope that makes sense!
  15. Hi Brad, Your APR will be 21.99% based on monthly rate of 1.67%. You cant just multiply the monthly rate by 12 as this does not give you the proper CCI figure. I have just typed your monthly figure in Mindzai's spreadsheet and it comes up as 21.99% so this will be the correct rate. Initially I multiplied monthly by 12 and Bill confirmed this wasnt correct. HTH
  16. Hi Sharmads, Did they pay you the compounded contractual interest or is that just the charges?
  17. I must admit, I didnt include it in prelim on one of my claims as didn't know about contractual interest at the time. I then sent a revised LBA because the prelim stated that I would take action which would incur interest. I just put...."since awaiting your response, I have spent my time thoroughly researching reclaiming bank charges and now understand I am able to claim compounded contractual interest at a rate of %, please fine attached a revised schedule of charges" blah blah
  18. Hi Brad, Im not sure about payment protection interest and cash interest so wouldnt like to quote on that as I have only ever been charged Purchase interest. What spreadsheet are you using as it should do it all for you? I would also suggest you phone Cap 1 and ask what APR they are applying to your account (there is a way to check they give you the correct info). You may find this thread useful if you havent already seen it. It is very long but worth it. http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/general/18313-why-no-one-claiming.html
  19. Hi Rich, There are spreadsheets to do this for you but if you havent included the interest at 24.9 in your early letter you cannot just add it on at MCOL stage im afraid.
  20. Hi Brad, I had the same problem and finally got an answer. You have to add in all the monthly interest that you are charged on separate lines. You just type in the date and then fill in the interest charged bit. Make sure all your charges and interest are in date order. Hope that helps
  21. Thanks for replying Glenn. I was thinking more along the lines of the fact that I have asked them twice and it is clear they dont have them. So even if it went to court, they would still not be able to provide them so then what do we do?. Do you know any requests that have got to court as it would be interesting to see what happened? Surely, if we made estimates it would be up to them to prove they didn't charge us for those periods. I have seen a few threads where they complained to the I C and they only agreed they breached section 6 as they didnt provide it within the time limit.
  22. Hi Steven4064, They can jolly well reverse it if they do that to me! They are full of c*ap. I have revised my CCI spreadsheet but the prob I have now is that there are statements missing for Jan 01 to Jun 01 and Jan 03 to Jun 03. Ideally Id love to just estimate them and stick a charge in for every month as it will be up to them to prove they didnt charge...but....I worry I may come unstuck if I do that!
  23. Another question from me folks. Im filling in spready and because GE money havent supplied stats going back to Jan 01 (only from July 01) I am going to assume they charged me every month from Jan 01 to Jul 01 so I have filled in previous estimated charges box (never needed to fill this bit in before). I see it doesnt work out CCI on this, am I doing it right? Also, slightly off the thread but does anyone know if I am ok to assume the charges being as they cant provide the statements (they also have some missing for Jan 03 - Jul 03 so I was going to assume them for that too) I have read threads about issuing non compliance letters etc and just wondered if I HAD to go down this route as it will take me ages to get my money back and because Im on maternity leave I need it sooner rather than later. Any thoughts on this please?
