  1. Just to add Bill, Column L goes mad if you just enter figures in columns F, G & H
  2. Sorry for delay folks. Screaming baby on my hands....just locked her in the filing cabinet! Basically I just wanted to check if Vamps no.16 S/S worked out the interest charged for all of the consecutive months because like you say Bill-k, the interest would include previous interest on charges etc. I read in a thread that you should put the charges in and then put all of the months where interest was charged on a separate line but I have only entered the charges with the assumption that the S/S somehow calculates all of the interest charged until now without having to put the single interest transactions in. If you are supposed to list 60 transactions (5 years worth of interest) then the advanced spreadsheet wont let me do this. I know Mindzai's bank S/S will so i just wanted to check the S/S arent getting confused. My brain is working like Chezt's but need clarification.
  3. I hope you're right Chezt cos I have sent all my prelims that way but LBAs are due to go out and I want to make sure they are right. Just when I thought I had it straight in my head, another thread leads me to think differently!
  4. lol Chezt, I think we are both worried now. I havent filled any bank ones in yet just credit cards and have never put just interest charges down on no.16. Can someone please clarify for us!
  5. Hi again Mindzai. The spreadsheet wont seem to allow me to just enter the interest charged as the int on int box goes haywire on Vamps. I know your bank one is straight forward enough to do that on but the same doesnt seem to apply with Vamps. Have you done a S/S for credit cards yet? Any other ideas with Vamps?
  6. just had loads of emails saying a new linkback has been recorded for this thread. Excuse my ignorance but what does that mean?
  7. bummer! Good job only one has settled so far then! :o Thanks Mindzai
  8. Hi folks, Just wanted to check something with Vamps spreadsheets for credit cards (advanced). I fill in the penalties and balance and interest etc etc. Am I supposed to put all the consecutives months of interest that I have been charged up to present date? So I will have lines with the charges but I would also have mountains of lines with just the interest on? (e.g. 5 lines worth of charges but then about 60 lines worth of just interest?) I ask this as I have read a thread that looks like I should be doing this but I have only been putting the dates of the charges in with the interest charged on that statement. Have I been doing it wrong?
  9. Great thanks. LBA it is then. Good luck with your claim
  10. Hi Wilkins, I have a Halifax credit card and sent prelim and have had letter today saying I agreed to the T&Cs and signed to be bound by £25 charges and they wont refund anything. Did you have this letter from them at all?
  11. Miss Pickles How did you get on with Freemans as I had an account with them and they made charges so I closed it and paid the charges but now I want them back!!!
  12. I have just received a junk email and it the header was about reclaiming bank charges so opened it to see what it was and there is a website set up where they offer to do the process for you. They take a whopping 25% for doing this for you and are obviously targeting the people who dont think they could do it themselves. I knew it was inevitable that people would cash in on this but its so frustrating. I only heard of this site through a friend and if I hadn't of I would have probably been too frightened to ever dream of taking on banks etc so people who may not have heard of this site will end up agreeing for these robbers to do it! They also use the insulting line.....NO WIN, NO FEE!!!!! They blo*dy know full well there will always be a win which means they will always get a fee!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR....rant over!
  13. Well done Bean. I think they are reasonable as they settled in full with me after LBA sent and it included compounded contractual interest! Wish others would take a leaf out of their books!
  14. Folks, Vamps spreadsheets probably look as though it is 8% because you have to change the percentage to the applicable one for your case. The 8% is just an example.
  15. No idea Wee, maybe give them a call to check as you can always send a non-compliance letter if you still dont receive them all. I have just won my charges plus interest back from Morgan Stanley and that was after I sent LBA so I think they may be softening Good Luck
  16. Hi Paul. Im not quite at that stage now sorry as I have had to send a revised LBA to Cap 1 today as the interest rate I quoted initially was too low. Try this thread, bit of a long read but if the info isnt there Im sure people will be able to help you on this one. Good Luck with it! Contractual Interest Uk - It certainly does and it will feel even better when Ive kicked their A*s*s
  17. Just phoned Cap 1 and they said its 22.5%. Checked on Mindzai spreadsheet and it does work out at 22.54% so I shall use that then! Charges £354.00 so total with CCI is £766.62. Revised LBA in post tomorrow. Thanks peeps
  18. Thanks again Bill. Your opinion is appreciated as ever. 34.94% it is then. Wow my charges are £394 and based on 34.94% it take the total to reclaim up to a whopping £1190.94. That will cost them an extra £50 in court fees then ! lol!
  19. Hi Doo, Hmmnnnn difficult as I have read a few threads now and the APR is different for everyone so I think I may direct Bill to this thread as he has confirmed I would need to send a revised LBA. Bill - The website says 34.9% typical APR on classic card but other threads have used what Capital One say they have charged. Which one should I use? Is it best to phone them?
  20. Reply from good old Mr UDY saying disappointed I wont accept his offer and that he wont increase it and contact Ombudsman blah blah. Looks as though this is standard situation with Cap 1. I have refused part settlement previously and I now need to prepare my claim for court (lots of reading for me to do as this will be my 1st one). I presume I dont have to notify him that I still wont accept his offer and that I am filing my claim as I have already done it in LBA. I do have one questions though, the CCI I claimed was 12 x monthly rate and in a discussion on another thread, bill has explained that it is not a contractual rate by doing it that way (I knew I had read it somewhere as I said in my earlier post....glad I'm not going mad!) my spreadsheet for LBA was 20.5% and Im worried now that by not doing it at 34.9% I may leave myself open for a proper contest in court. If I change to 34.9%, do I have to start over and send another prelim and LBA? Any advise gratefully received :-|
  21. Ah I see said the blind man! Luckily I only used the x12 for morgan stanley, all my others have the current rate. Thanks again Bill for pointing me in the right direction!
  22. Finally received info from Lloyds yesterday and they sent copy statements up to Sept 01 but then a list of charges with no balances! Have totalled them up and I am horrified at the amounts....I knew Lloyds were bad but they charged £150 once for an unpaid standing order!!!! Have used Vamps No. 2 spreadsheet as there is no balance on the printouts they send. Charges are £1030.00 and interest works out at £2526.47 at 29.8% APR (their unauthorised borrowing rate) so prelim goes tomorrow for a whopping £3556.47!!!
  23. Fab thanks, thats the reassurance I needed. Ive enclosed a copy of LBA that they didnt have with my rejection letter. Fingers crossed they pay up...although the interest is about 3 times the amount of the charges!
  24. Well 70p a day aint bad is it! Good Luck with it. I will just never understand how they pay some and not others...must be to do with the amounts!
