  2. Evening All! Sending Preliminary Approach for Refund letter tomorrow Recorded Delivery. Only had the joint account for three years but seem to have small charges almost every month. Funny how they went unnoticed.
  3. Only just got a chance to sort out the RD Preliminary Request for Refund letter. Will be in the post recorded delivery tomorrow. LOULA
  4. Good evening, My husband has had problems with paying MS, so unforgiving are they that they took him to court and placed a charge on our property until the debt is repaid. He has calculate that the have taken at least £500 in charges (late payment and standard letters etc). 1. Can he ask for statements from them, for the ones he has 'misfiled'? 2. Can he still ask for the money back even though it has been to court and the charge against the property placed? LOULA
  5. Hi! The contract is irrelevant. The bank is in breach of several laws if they make punative charges to your account. Good luck with your quest. Please keep us informed of your progress. LOULA
  6. Lotta! Fantastic news! I am genuinely pleased for you. Please don;t disappear from the forum once you get your money, your views as someone who has been through the process would be very welcome. LOULA
  7. Hello! You need to "save as" then call it whatever you fancy. Once saved you can input your own information. LOULA
  8. Hi Cyanide, You should start your own thread for this 'new' question. But basically - late payment charges, returned payments etc, as with the current account charges. LOULA
  9. Thanks Lotta Littlies! I am so enjoying this process - I guess you are too! LOULA
  10. Good luck. Keep us posted. LOULA
  11. As you wrote to him the first time he should (or his office) have acknowledged your letter and said they were passing it onto Orton or Horton. It is not the "done thing" for anyone senior to simply pass on without issuing even a standard reply to the sender. Loula
  12. Good for you! Keep on top of LTSB the whole way, Keep hassling until you get your DPA stuff through. You may be surprised at how much you have paid in charges over the years without really noticing. I assume you asked for the full 6 years? LOULA
  13. Well, after receiving no reply to my fax and email (which didn't bounce), I decided to call them! Funnily enough the number that the top of the letter from Chirs Brown is not where SHE works. (My apologies to Chris for assuming she was male) Once I had secured her direct number... 0121 633 5452 .. I call her and was told, that my package had been sent out first class yesterday and would be with me by tomorrow latest. She was very dismissive almost to the point of rudeness, so I retract me apology! Not two minutes later the postman arrived with said package! Have totalled up the charges.... After a full two minutes of eye rubbing and shock I re-added everything ... fell off chair, got back on and.... £3260! and that's with almost three full years of paying nothing in charges! These people are beyond belief and words! Only manaual intervention was 1. refund charges of £75 in 1999 2. correct input of wrongly credited travellers cheques 2001 3. DPA request acknowledgement 2006 4. DPA chaser and cheque acknowledgement. 2006 Everything else on the other 10 pages was standard letters. As you can now imagine the GIVE ME MY MONEY OR ELSE letter will be sent RD tomorrow! LOULA

    Mal v Lloyds

Hi! Got mine back today... full of STDLET Only four cases of manual intervention since the account was opened in 1997.. 1. returned bank charges in 1999 - £75 2. messed up traveller cheques refund 3. DPA req recvd 4. DPA chase and chq recvd. All the other 10 pages were full of STDLET or similar! I calculate that at approx 30p postage, less than 1 pence per sheet of paper and less than 1 pence for the ink, say 2 pence for computer programme time... thats a hell of a lot less than £20-£30 charge!!!! LOULA
  15. Hello! This is a common problem. Please could you look at the terms and conditions for me and let me know if anything is written about cancellation of the policy following a total loss? Many thanks LOULA
  16. I know, I know. If you ever want me to explain how/why I will, but it will send you to sleep! LOULA
  17. You can only get Road Tax using a certificate which either has that car's reg number on it, or states any vehicle belonging to the polciy holder... sorry! LOULA

    Worried

Hello! What about Paypal as a temporary measure? You can take credit card payments and pay a small fee for it. May be worth looking into? LOULA
  19. Didn't get a chance to fax or phone. Have not received a reply so tomorrow I shall call them. LOULA
  20. Welcome! You may as well ask for both at the same time. It will save you time in the long run. If needs be, you can always split the accounts back out if you are claiming over £5k in court. Make full use of the FAQ's and Step by Step Guide. Also read what everone else has been doing and the "standard" responses from LTSB. This should help guide you too. Best wishes LOULA
  21. It is now two calender weeks since they received my cheque and reminder letter by recorded delivery. Am again going to fax to them today, also email and phone. Once I have composed (myself and) the text I will let you know. LOULA
  22. ABTA is for Travel Agents. ATOL is for Tour Operators TWO different things. Travel agents book holidays for you, usually prepackaged. If they make a package for you (this means two parts of the small holiday, such as flights and hotel, or hotel and car hire) then they must have insurance to cover it. TOL - Tour Operatoirs Liability. You need to know which part to write to/about. Any more queries ask me. It was my job to underwrite these policies. One of only four people in the country so I know what I am talking about. LOULA
  23. I am almost certain that the claims (once I get that far) will go to court. My question is this.. Do I/We have to appear in court? LOULA
  24. Thank you Dave...Mr Miracle worker. Perfect Date now!!!!!!!!!!!! LOVE YOU! LOULA
  25. Hi, I can only answer the insurance part of your query. I am afriad that most commercial policies do carry a minimum premium and this is payable for the first year regardless of whether the intention is for the policy to run for 12 months or less. The broker is at fault to not telling you this. The code of practice clearly states that you have to tell people/companies what is NOT covered, terms and conditions of cover and penalties. They do not have to tell you everything which is covered. I know this probably doesn't help, but you may have some recourse against the brokers if you still have the paper work and they failed to notify you of this clause/restriction. Good luck..any more queries just shout! LOULA
