  1. Well done. Keep us posted. LOULA
  2. hi! Whatever happened to this one? Did you persue it? I couldn't find anything else listed under your nom de plume. LOULA
  3. Hi, You need to write to Airtours and insist they pass the claim to their Tour Operators Liability (TOL) Insurance consultant. As you bought a package from them (full price or at reduced cost) they have a liability to you to provide the holiday you paid for. They can only refund (plus costs) the "lost" part of the holiday. Also for injury/dmage caused by their holiday. This was my forte at work so let me know if you need any help. I can't remember who underwrites Airtours TOL policy but can give you a couple of leads if they play hard ball with you. They will probably try to fob you off with a no, then the minimum £250 which is the smallest excess this type of policy carries (saves them having to put a claim through to the insurance company). Stick to your guns if you feel you holiday was really that bad, and have proof. Any photos, fellow travellers staements, written documents etcs should all be photocopied and provided with your claim. Any help required PM me or reply on this thread. Good luck LOULA
  4. Hi! Also look at the other thread in this section about cancellation fees. I am an ex-insurance company person so may be able to help you understand why and maybe help you out if the ins co is wrong/unlawful. LOULA
  5. Just to let everyone know... NOTHING YET!!!! Now day 10 (since recorded delivery letter received) and cheque still not banked. LOULA
  6. Just found it.... "Excess Charges" it is entitled. LOULA
  7. Hi! Recent success against LTSB was our very own RICHARDC (moderator)... http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=780&highlight=richardc The whole sordid details are on this set of pages but can't find it at present... too many pages now!!!!!!! LOULA
  8. I am very pleased for you. Gives great hope to the rest of us. LOULA
  9. Sorry, hit wrong button. Also, Insurance companies breakdown a policy into monthly segments not equally in the first year of insurance as to recoup the admin costs of setting up the policy. If I remember rightly - 89% of first year insurance costs for motor policies goes on admin and agout 65% on Household. Not saying they are right or lawful, just what the insurance industries stand might be. LOULA
  10. If you pay monthly they cannot enforce the charge as the agreement is to pay per month (unless you have defaulted and not paid for the amount of cover you have had). LOULA
  11. Good Evening! Have not been able to pay the minimum off my card this month. Spoke to LTSB card people and agreed to pay £30 a week for 5 weeks then go back to the usual monthly payments. They were more than happy at this; in fact as a gesture of goodwill they are going to WRITE OFF THE OVERDUE DEBT!!!!!!! Me thinks LTSB maybe on a back foot!?!?!?!? Yours extremely happy for once LOULA
  12. Hi! Did you pay monthly? LOULA
  13. No chance to phone today, but have composed the following... As you can see I am sending it by fax and snail mail. The cheque is still not banked, but hey, that is their problem not mine!!!! No doubt 6 years worth of statements will arrive tomorrow.... Ho Hum... 34 days to go. LOULA Just noticed... he is obviously a very busy man as he has not signed the letter!
  14. Actually I think I will phone him as well and scare the proverbial out of him. I like doing that, it at least, reduces my stress levels!
  15. Must be ESP, but I waited until yesterday (Saturday) as advised in my previous post and lo and behold this arrived... Now I have in mind a young man of perhaps 16/17 years of age wearing a suit and shirt at least one size too big, because his Mum secretly hopes he will grow into it. Dad's told him 'Banking is a good solid career with plently of prospects me lad'. All his mates are off to uni! Now he has obviously used some of his own words/terminology, bless him. I however do not like abbreviations (I've, don't etc) in official letters. (That is just the Director in me.) BUT THIS DOESN'T DETRACT FROM THE FACT THAT THEY HAVE HAD THE FEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Scathing email, fax and letter on the way. Once composed I will post it for all you CAG's to view! LOULA
  16. Morning! I managed it try http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=33 Good luck LOULA
  17. Dave! BRAVO I think it is great too. One small question! Are we now American? Or is it possible to put the date back to correct British version ie. DD-MM-YY??? I am married to an american so appreciate the diversity of cultures and also the computer programmers nightmare of trying to overcome americanisms. Just a small request. LOULA

  21. Still no reply, no telephone call from LTSB nor any post!!!! What's next? Just wait the 40 days?
  22. Hi! 'He who thinks he wears the trousers' has opened a Co-operative Bank Cashminder account despite CCJ's and LTSB shafting him. He has been using it for a month or more now and it seems to be great. Only get a cashpoint/switch card but hey what more do you want? LOULA
  23. Thanks intersimi for raising this issue. I am now clear as to my position and way forward. Also for your post on LTSB page with your letter, which I will use also (assuming no copyright applies -lol)! Thanks also to everyone else who commented on this thread. I love how everyone is working together! LOULA
