  14. I then fell seriously ill, had a major car accident, had a baby and thing generally fell by the wayside! Then I get more bank charges and guess what I did??????????? Now the amount has changed as I have moved forward one year. Had I thought about it a little more, I would have just claimed back every penny the thieving toads have had from me since 1999 when I opened the account.
  15. Received the usual 'bugger off' reply (will post dates names details tomorrow)
  16. Picking up after almost a year off due to illness, accidents and new born babies... Back to May 2006
  17. Taken from the news panel on Yahoo! LOULA
  18. Address it to the bank manager at your branch, even if that is no longer local to you. If you do not have the bank managers name, just write to Dear Sir. LOULA
  19. Hi BL, Yes, go for the full amount, but if they ever say they have had to impose the chrges for manual intervention, we will know the correct code reasoning and argue for further justice. LOULA
  20. I know what two of them are now as I have kept the last two letter from LTSB about stuff bouncing etc. Once I have the list I will post them all, so don;t worry about them for now. I hope to have the definitive list by next weekend. LOULA
  21. My only piece of advice to her is that given to me by a divorce solicitor... NEVER EVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES LEAVE THE MARITAL HOME IF CHILDREN ARE INVOLVED - KICK HIM OUT! I would get down the benefits agency asap or call your local branch. LOULA
  22. Hi Linngee! Try the Co-operative Bank. They have a basic account - no cheque book but an electron card. If you can pay by DD then you should get some discounts from utility providers. LOULA
  23. Just added up the CC = £370 and I don't have all the statements, there are about 5 missing. The amount they are due to 'write-off' is about £150. LOULA
  24. Hi! Need to do the CC one. Had held off as they agreed if I paid £30 per week for 5 weeks or the full £150 within the 5 weeks they would write off the rest of the overdue debt. Was waiting to see if they held to their end of the bargain before I proceeded. They have since issued the Default notice (13 days after entering the agreement with me) and I am due to pay the full £150 on Tuesday. I would estimate the charges to be about £200 On the current account the charges are £657. Thanks LOULA
  25. That really does depend on the mortgage company, your circumstances and also the amount of the mortgage you require. We found we needed a 15% deposit. Didn;t have a bean, and basically told the new house developer if they wanted to sell the house they had to pay the deposit for us! It is written into the deeds, but that doesn;t really mean much. Shop around is my advice. Don't take your first port of calls word for gospel. It may take you time to find the right mortgage place. Ask load of questions even if you think they think you may be stupid, get it all completely clear in your head before making any decisions. Believe me I asked the most ludicrous questions because I just didn;t understand some of the mortgage terms. If I hadn't then I think I could well have felt hoodwinked about some of the issues (like higher than normal bank rate interest, early redemption fees etc.) Hope this helps LOULA
