Hi all....another newbie for ya.:o

I hope someone can reassure me ive done this right,Ive phoned up Nationwide (before id been here and read the FAQ"s) and they kindly sent me my six years of bank statements and account charges for free (only took a few days).

Ive now gone through all the statements and here's what ive come up with....

Unpaid Direct debit fee"s....£1523.50

Unauthorised over draft fee"s £368

Unpaid bill payment fee £30

Interest at 8% £240.19 (8% of the total...hope that's correct)

Grand total £2161.69.

Ive printed off the template stating the fee"s and asking for them back,so far am i following the correct procedure....Nervous is a massive understatement at the moment.:)

Not quite. The 8% interest is only claimed when you raise your court case. Use one of the template spreadsheets to enter your data into. One is simple, the other tries to estimate how much interest you have been charged on your penalty charges. This will then provide you with a basis of a report to attach to your claim listing full details including dates.

This will then be your start to making your court claim and correctly calculating the 8% interest.

If you don't have excel, I have the same using Works, so PM me for details if you need this.

Which letter? It should be the preliminary request.

Can anyone help as im now a little worried ive missed the boat.....way back in june i started the ball rolling to claim back the bank charges, reached the point where they refused to refund so next step was court.

Its now early novemeber and im concernd i might have waited to long to file a claim, wife became pregnant with twin then we bought a house so time has just flown by..Dont want to start a court claim if ive waited too long.

Anyone.......

There's nothing to stop you filing, but you could send an abreviated LBA mentioning the previous correspondence and give them 7 days till you file. But this time mean what you say.

Thanks for the lightning quick response Michael...that's put my mind at rest and LBA superb idea, will get on to it tonight.

Many thanks ;)
