Does anyone know if i claim the full ammount of charges from barclaycard? I'm just a little confused because didn't the government bring in a max charge of £12 or something like that for credit cards about a year ago? Also can you still claim charges if your card is in a default situation?

hi there bry

you might want to check my thread Rocco v Barclaycard, a bit of help there for you!

I was unsure too of this, however, a day before court they effectively settled the full amount of charges rather than just the difference.

I think there is some advice on this site to think hard about accepting the offer (when they reduce your charges to £12 rather than the £30 they have been charging you) - they will give you the difference back. In my circumstances i accepted this as part payment but wanted the rest back so it ended up in court. Obviously they didnt want to challenge it so i won - all be it in a strange way!!!
