Rang abbey about charges got letter back stating they made an investigation and found they had done nothing wrong and fell in line with other banks.

Next stage was sending letter giving them 7 days to which i got a reply of they will start an investigation and could i give them 4 weeks to come to an agrement i would be happy with.

In last 11 odd months i have reduced my overdraft from 800 to 0 and for the first time in years have actually my own money in the bank and not living of overdraft, in this period i have also paid off c/c amount of around 1600 and 2 loans of around 3500(together).

Do u think by clearing all debts my case would be stronger and they may actually see that as a good reason to settle the matter with me out of court, and if not would the fact of me have clearing these debts make me look beter in court.

I don't think that it will make much difference except that they will know that they can't threaten you with making you repay your overdraft.

Have you got a parachute account?

Not a problem. You are in no hurry.

Just get yourself ready bit by bit until you can open the new account and then start your claim.
