You could inform Trading Standards as they can enforce the Road Traffic Act, but to be honest three months after the time of sale it might be more difficult for them to take action and prove that it was definitely sold in that condition.

 

Have you complained to Carcraft yourself yet, and what have they had to say?

 

You could potentially ask for compensation as the car was not of satisfactory quality when sold as a tyre was illegal (under the Sale of Goods Act) and see how you get on.

 

The Act does say that normally you have to give the original trader an opportunity to put the fault right but in this case I would argue that you didn't know that the tyre was at fault until the work was already being carried out.
