I'm looking for some advice if possible please....

I have only recently realised I had PPI on 3 loans taken out with Lloyds in 1996,1997 &1998.

I sent an SAR to Lloyds in June as my initial complaint was not upheld as they couldn't find any paperwork,

this was sent and received on 14th September and complaint re-opened.

I have telephoned 3 times and still my complaint hasn't been looked at.

Can they take as long as they like?

It's starting to annoy me that my complaint (new information) has been sitting on someone's desk, so to speak, since September.

I have today complained to the Ombudsman but not holding my breath.

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Hi Mandalou

i have recently put in a claim for PPI's with Lloyds for around the same period as yourself.

Lloyds did respond within the 8 week limit. Point there is hope, be insistent.

initially Lloyds wrote back and said NO PPI where is the evidence?

Obviously i was not happy with this response as it was their own records (SARs) that actually brought the PPI's to my attention.

the length of time meant that i had forgotten/not understood what they were.

i wrote back in disgust pointing this out to them.

the other annoying ploy of theirs is to try and insist you use their forms

- i wrote back advising that the FOS form was good enough and had no intention of using their form as it was not statue to do so.

i did not accept the delaying tactic that they use and insisted on the time frame from the date of my initial complaint.

i still have an outstanding claim which for reasons only known to themselves they have chosen to defend,

but i will battle on and hope you will as well.

Have you SAR'd Lloyds?

any chance you have kept any old bank statements showing payments?

any idea who the insurers were?

contract them direct with a SAR if necessary.

there must be other Caggers on here who have an idea who Lloyds used for these purposes back then.

what about other members of your family?

did they have Lloyds PPI around the same time,

did they keep the insurers paperwork?

Unfortunately Lloyds will LIE to try to put you off. Don't be.

GoodLuck, and continue the fight

Thank you, yes I did SAR Lloyds which is how I knew I had insurance on 3 loans.

I will keep on at them as I've nothing to lose. I know they told me I had to have them, difficult to prove though.

Just wish they would hurry up! Ha!

Partial Success!!

Received cheque for £1599 for one loan. I took out 3, the complaint included all three which were taken out 1997-1998. Same circumstances for all. Confused as to why only one was paid out. Should I send to ombudsman or be thankful I got some?! Bit of a rhetorical question but your thoughts would be greatly received. Many thanks

Thanks DX...ask Lloyds?

Thought it strange that 2 were not upheld, even said they spoke to me and from my answers decided they were sold to me correctly...I've never spoken to them on the phone!!

No explanation as to why the other one was upheld though just the figures...
