I have a problem with BCW GROUP [debt collection company] I had bad debt with provident home credit in 2009, could not pay and they sold the debt to BCW GROUP in 2010 1 of the 2 have put a default on my credit record without due process.

 

 

Can somebody please help and give me some guidance.

Hi and welcome to CAG. Sorry you were missed.

 

Proving that due process was not followed will not be easy. To find out if a debt was defaulted, you will need to send a SAR to Provident (costs a tenner)

 

BCW should not have placed the default. provident would have done that but when the debt was sold BCW replaced Provident as the creditor on your credit file so long as the dates stayed the same.

 

Most credit operators do not keep paper copies of letters sent but they should mark on your credit history when a default was issued.

 

Once you have a SAR back, more info may be forthcoming
