My husband was accused of fly tipping. He had to take time off work to attend an interview under caution and then was subsequently taken to court. He attended court twice and on both occasions he was there all day. He was found not guilty so can he sue for loss of earnings? If he can, would it be the local council who pressed charges or, the civilian who falsely reported seeing him dump the waste while he was out walking the dog!

He represented himself in court and just wanted to leave when it was over so he didn't think to ask for advice while he was there. He's annoyed at the fact he lost wages especially as he deals with fly tippers and vandals as part of his job, not to mention he had to ask his boss for a character reference. At the end of the day he's thankful of the outcome because it could have cost him his job but 2 days work is 2 days work.

Really appreciate any advice

Ivy
