After I paid 69 pounds for my faulty washing machine ,

the engineer came for the first time on 19/09/13, I was put on waiting for ever.

They cancel the second visit appointment just by texting me in the morning of that day( 09/10/13) .

That is because incorrect parts had been ordered.

Since then,I called them every week.

Every time I called them, they give me excuses of short of parts supply,

communication problems with warehouse or their engineer.

They always say it takes 3--5 working days to receive the parts, when the engineer receive it he will call me.

after 4 weeks, same excuses, same answers, it is not creative at all, I have to say it is not a "good liar".

I'm still in waiting,

wrote a letter to them already, no reply.

u know what because their initial contact number is on the product instruction book (argos product),

so whoever call them to book their service will receive "good Luck".

So they just don't care about their bad customer service.

Maybe bring 0800 repair to court is the last solution, I'm about to make my idea.:mad2::mad2::mad2:

hi welcome to cag.

have you a faulty washing machine that you purchased from Argos?

how old is this?

theres no need to pay for any warranty

under the sale of goods act argos should be repairing it for free.

dx

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

I think the time has come for you to take further action against Argos.

Write a letter telling them that you reject the goods under section 14 of the Sale of Goods Act 1979 as it is not fit for purpose.

Give them 14 days in which to refund your money and collect the machine from your property.

You are not entitled to anything other than a full refund plus what extra costs you have incurred.

On the bottom of the letter say you will refer the matter to the small claims court

if they haven't done what you have asked for without further reference.

Argos, Curry's and Comet when they were in business are well known for flouting the Sale of Goods Act

by trying to pass your complaint to the maker when as retailer, they are responsible.

If you are on a restricted budget and want a decent washing machine

then look at John Lewis machines which have a good reputation.

Or go on fleabay and look for a Miele second hand. T

hese machines will last years and you often find people selling them cheap when they have replaced their kitchen.

The washing machines that Argos sell are bottom end of the market with only 8000 washes,

after that they are kaput.
