Well sat down and worked it out, £1059 in charges and £370 in interest at 15.9% so a total of £1429.

Should I cash the cheque as partial payment, even though the've said it is final?

I'm in no great rush for the money so I may just send it back with my request for full repayment of charges:)

its up to you.

if you want to claim all charges, then pursue the charges and send off letter saying you'll accept cheque as part settlement

Their comment about it being final is a formality on their part and means nothing in law.

So you can happily cash the cheque and write to them telling them you will continue for the rest. The only way their debt to you can be settled is by paying it in full or going to court and defending their position.

It is of course possible that they may defend but as far as I can work out you would be the first.
