RLP now sending Debt collectors

Had an RLP fine for £180 about a year ago, all went quiet now having debt collecting agency Capquest calling me. Didnt bother answering the phone.

I last had a letter from RLP (their fifth) on 1st Feb threatening debt collectors but nothing since. Its probably only a matter of time unless they dont bother racking up more expense chasing me for £90. I cant imagine they will give up though. So far I havent replied to any of their correspondence.

If they do manage to catch you, don't go through "security", tell them that you want everything in writing. If they catch you again, I would tell them to go forth

 

You could try the one liner "I deny any liability to you or your client" to capquest & RLP if they become bothersome

Debt collectors have no powers whatsoever - they are employed to try and pester you into paying as for most people there is still an element of 'shame' involved. Just ask yourself, why, if RLP are so sure of your indebtedness, they haven't got the store concerned to sue you in Court, rather than pay for a debt collector to send letters or annoy you on the phone? Ramping up the pressure - ignore of tell them that no such debt exists so bog off - your choice!
