Hello, I have now started my second claim (the first is in progress against Capital One - Mastercard) this time its against Halifax bank. I am going to claim for the last 2 years initially as I have statements for this period but when I get further statements I will make an additional claim. So on Monday I sent a preliminary letter via e-mail to Halifax customer services (twice to be sure) for £958.

People that are receiving partial offers, are these amounts being credited to accounts whether you accept the offer as full and final or not?. I won't be caving in don't worry but obviously a few hundred quid in the meantime would be nice!.

Why not wait untill you recieve the statements, going to court if needs be twice for the same claim wont look good and the court could strike your claim out

Thanks for the advice, what I will probably do now is wait for the second set of statements and send a second pre-lim letter incorporating all 6 years of charges explaining that I am extending the scope of my claim. If I get a small refund in the meantime without filing a court claim then thats a bonus isn't it. I mean I will reply stating that I accept as part settlement.

I received a reply to my pre-lim letter back in Sept/Oct offering £450 of the £958, I haven't replied as yet as I have been busy with other claims and other issues in my life, lol, I am going to write and reject their offer of settlement and also ask for statements pre 2004 which I still have not yet received. I shall also been adding a few new charges I have recently incurred.
