Reclaiming charges from Credit Cards

I am helping a friend reclaim credit card charges from 2 x credit card providers:

 

Capital One and Citi Financial.

 

Both the above have only provided 6 years worth of statements in respect of Subject Access Request and claim they dont keep data any further back.

 

However after a battle both have agreed to return the charges for those 6 years.

 

Friend would like to take this to either the FOS or court for the return of charges further back and also contractural interest if possible

 

Both companies had also applied PPI.

 

Capital One have admitted mis selling this and returned the PPI

Citi are playing hardball and a complaint has gone into the FOS.

 

If I advise friend to accept the refund for 6 years on a "part-refund" basis. Can he then take further action via either the FOS or court ?

The contractural interest. I require an absolutely idiot proof spreadsheet. Does anyone have one please. Also, how do we get round the fact that only 6 years worth of statements have been provided ?

 

In the case of Citi, as there is already a complaint with the Financial Ombudsman regarding the PPI.. can a complaint for the charges be tacked on or will another complaint have to be made if that is the route to go.

Can I ask if Capital One have refunded the total charges or simply the difference between the original charge and the £12.00 currently charged.

I am the friend that CB is helping.

 

Is seems that Capone is saying they are prepared to reduce all default charges in the last 6 years to the date of my complaint to £12 and refund any interest charged on those fees.
