Right.

I normally have the sound off on my laptop. I hate most electronic sounds, and happily live without them.

However, at the moment, I am listening to some rather nice opera arias with the headphones on, since DH and DS have been watching ancient Dr Who episodes.

Unfortunately, when I am changing pages, clicking on links etc, the default sound also comes on, which I don't mind telling you is infuriating!

Anyone knows if there is way to turn these off, and if yes where and how?

OS Win7, IE8.

I'm going to try and tinker with the sound settings, but it's not a part of the machine I use very often, so I may be back with more issues!

TIA

Ah ah ah, dumbass! Sorted! :-D

Turns out that the WIn7 sound mixer has separate settings for "normal" sounds and "applications" sounds, and all I had to do was choose the "no sounds" on the applications one!!!
