Hello to everyone, I am so pleased to have found this website and the Fool... Over the past two days I have worked out I owe a total of nearly 14K but am not feeling depressed as I have learnt a lot over the past week.

I am very interested in claiming back my charges as I reckon at least half of my debt is because of these. Hopefully I can claim these back and it wont take me half as long to pay off.

I'm still a little unsure how to go about it all, I have printed off a few template letters and am still doing my home work, so any futher info would be grately appreciated.

I have also just found out that i'm paying £40.00 a month to a company that I dont owe money to; having just received my credit report it seems they were paid up in 2002!!!!! (hoping to claim all this back to)

Thanks again to any one in advance for all the help

Hi Theresa.

Are you under pressure from any of your creditors? If so, there may be some action you need to take to stabilise your situation.

To whom have you been paying the £40 per month?

If you feel able to post more details of your creditors and the amounts owed, then advice should be more forthcoming.:)

Hello Elsinore,

Thanks for the reply, i am only getting hasstle from littlewoods who i owe 1k to but i have written them a letter asking for a copy of my credit agreement as i dont remember signing anything with them. The rest have stopped charging me interest (I think). well just the APR i dont think my credit raiting is good enough to go for a 0% balance transfer any way.

I thought i was paying £40 a month to vodafone (who i have paid) but it turns out that i was wrong it's my o2 phonebill which i am paying off.

Next time i'm on i will list my creditors and the amounts owed.

Thanks again,

Theresa.
