I have just check my account and i have reciveied my refund RIP advent & Hitachi. Good luck to the rest of you that are with Hitachi :D

Got a letter from HCF today thought it would be my long awaited second offer!!!! But no just a letter telling me my account is in arrears!! To say i'm furious is an understatement!!! Just called HCF and it's apparently an automated letter and I need to disregard it, I asked if anything on my credit file would be affected and they are going to write to inform me!!! Not happy

What a complete joke! If HCF do not provide you with a satisfactory offer and you decide to take it to the FO. Make sure that you include all these incidents in your case, the arrear letters, continuing to pay for nothing and being threaten that your crdit file will be impeached. This will most definately help your case.

Well I got my final offer today and it was the same as the first. Again they try to pressure in to accepting by giving you 10 days. I will now await the FOS decision as Hitachi are useless, you cant discuss anything with them as all you get are monkeys on the phones and management 'not at the desk'.

Oh well

Monkeys, i agree. It's a shame really they're only making it harder on themselves and easier for us. What's another three months worth? Every last penny :)

What The F!!!!!

So are they saying they're refunding you the original amount stated in the next 10 days whether you like it or not?

If so that's ridiculous! Who in their right mind is not going to take this further with the FO?

Can't wait for my letter, c'mon Mr Postman!

I got the same letter.

They arent forcing the full amount on to you. They are giving back anything you have paid since January 27th and 'offering' to give you the rest up to the amount the originally thought was 'fair'.

Amusing to say the least. I called the FOS last night to confirm they had recieved my complaint, recieved on 13th April and is waiting to be allocated.

Did the FO give any idea on how long the nxt process will take with regards to settling the dispute! Not that I'm worried I've waited long enough now anyway?

Let them put it in Willy, it confirms in the letter this is not an agreement. To cover your back email Jeanette or send them a letter saying you note they have refunded you XXX which you have paid since January but you do not consider this an agreement, if you want to add some sarcasm tell them you accept their down payment on the money they owe you :)

That was the bit which wasnt hopeful. The Guy said if they cannot make an agreement with Hitachi on what is fair it could take 3-9 months to give an official ruling depending on complexity of the case. He did advise that its normally closer to 3 than 9 though.

Very true,

Needless to say if they're no longer charging us on the account then at least that's one worry off our backs. Secondly if worst comes to worst and we don't get anymore than we've been originally offered then so be it but at least we tried.

Does anyone know if this has this gone to watchdog?

I've now received my letter and it has said the exact same thing, a basic mail merge. I recall when speaking to Jeannette Freeman that all complaints would be dealt with individually. Well it clearly has not!

I have yet to be allocated a account manager with the FO (within the next week or 2), however i will be contacting them tomorrow about the new light on the situtaion regarding HCF's final response. I will also ask the question that HCF clearly mis lead us to beleive. 'Will our complaints be dealt with on an individual or group basis?' As this is what was stated from HCF however we were all decieved.

What do you think?

I think things are looking worse and worse for HCF it just defies belief the arrogance and disregard they've shown, just trying to fob us off. I think they are just hoping alot of us will simply roll over! So they claimed managment were dealing with each claim individually??? What a joke! The higher up the chain you go the bigger the fiddle gets!

Not sure, to be fair to them they have given people individual settlements and have judged each case individually as shown by the different offers. They have however based all settlements on the same, flawed, calculations.

To be honest they have no idea what the courses were leading on to, what was involved, or what was meant to be supplied by Advent. They are a finance company and not an IT provider so they have judged it on the only basis they know how.

I personally signed up for a Database specialist course, was lead to believe that the qualifications leading up to this point were all working towards that goal.

After the collapse of Advent Iam left with qualifications that did not help me achieve my current role in IT nor have they helped me progress into a Database Specialist Role, so on that basis, they have not provided the course objective.

You wouldnt sell someone a tv but only give them a remote control and say 'well we provided part of it, heres a 20% refund'

Brilliant point on the remote lol,

have not yet had my next letter but after reading all of this I think I can't pretty much expect the same :(

They only wish to hold on for as long as possible so that cash of ours gains them more interest in their accounts. To say that they are looking at individuals differently is a complete joke as well. If everyone here had decided to fight for all money back instead of taking first offer it might be a different story, as the others have buckled they might possibly beleive they can make us to.

Hello all,

sure enough got my letter today stating exactly the same as everyone else. Did have high hopes that Hitachi were a company that would see them stick to the rule book but obviously in this day and age that is asking too much. So now my next step is to contact solicitors and claim for as much as I can. The cheek of all this is unbeleivable really and really hacks me off. Sure enough nothing has been looked into correctly and if I realised that I would have been charged for time spent on a course I would have seeked a pay as you go option if available. Hopefully the fos have sense as to the right and wrong of all this.
