Recently I have bought a new pc from PC-world.

I opted for the finance option with 10% deposit, which we went through and got accepted.

We got the computer everybody happy.

Now 6 weeks later the finance company sent me a letter saying that due to an administrative error, my credit application cannot be processed by their finance company.

They say that they want me to call them to discuss the options or alternatively just pay the goods in full.

This is sounds like a joke. isn't it?

Any advice much appreciated.

Thomas

Do you have a copy of the contract? I'm no expert but if you have a bit of paper saying you pay £x per month, then that should be a "binding contract".

As I said, I'm no expert, so this can just be a quick "Bump" until somone with more knowledge on this pops along.

If in doubt, contact a qualified insured legal professional (or my wife... she knows EVERYTHING)

Or send a cheque or postal order payable to Reclaim the Right Ltd.

Sure.

I have a credit agreement signed, so I have not much to worry about.

If they have made error on their side, It's not my problem.

After further guessing and discussion with my wife, we reckon that they lost the bit of paper, with the direct debit slip which allow them to set up a direct debit. Or they lost the contract all together...

Just show how they handling documents though.

Is the letter from the store or the credit company (HFC Finance)?

If it's from the store the odds are they've lost some or all of the paperwork and are trying not to get charged back for it.

If it's from HFC then the odds are their is some kind of clerical error on their part and they'll probably want you to sign up again. Either way, make sure you only sign up again if the terms of the original application are honored.
