I think the blob system works this way. When someone clicks on your scales you get points. When you get a certain amount of points, you get a blob. If someone with tons of blobs clicks your scales, you get more points from them than from someone with one blob.

 

We need peeps with lots of blobs to click on Mr.Ton's scales and see if we can give him the blobs he deserves.

May be an idea to start a thread on the subject of billing DCA's. How much power would we have legally to bill them say £12 per letter sent to cover stamps/envelopes/paper/ink and time spent researching consumer law on here at say £10 per hour?

 

I billed Moorcroft for over £1000

 

Is there any way I can actually make them pay up?

If we all did this the DCA's would be so busy chasing each other for payment, that they wouldn't have time to hassle us. lol

I want to be the Professional Field Enforcement Officer. Then I can mail them letters claiming that I "Tried to visit your property today."

 

We can have a little printer in the corner labeled "Pre Court Division" too.

 

We'd have to have names like Neville, Nigel, Sharon, Chardonnay, Dwayne Dibbley, or some other chavvy name that most DCA call centre staff use these days.

 

We need a box with a crank on it, and when it's turned it prints out all kinds of nasty things we MAY do to them.

 

We'd also need to book in for an operation to remove most of our braincells.

 

And the canteen would have to serve decent coffee and gingerbread biscuits.

 

(Reminds me of a call I had from AOL's call centre in India. "Hello my name is Colin from AOL customer support. How I can I help you pleeeze." No way in a million years could his name have possibly been Colin.)

Yep, fill the trailer with DCA employees, then off to the Value Burger (20 for 99p) factory. That'll fill their burger machine with lots of useless gristle, ear hole, eye hole, and A*$e holes.

Moorcroft were advertising for doorstep collectors again in my local rag.

 

Am sooo tempted to apply. Then when they give me my list of people to go and hassle, I would print out some info off here and the website address. And help every single one of them to get Moorcroft off their backs and start a debt and hassle free life.

 

Then to be a proper Professional Field Enforcement Officer, I would go around the farms giving the farmers a rating out of 10 for their fields.

Just had a strange phone call.

 

Withheld number. I answered and said "Hello"

The girl at the other end said, "Hello, who is this?"

 

Right away the alarm bells started to ring. Why when you ring someone, would you say "who is this?" when the person you called answers?

 

I just made a hissing noise for 5 seconds and hung up.

 

Sounds to me like a new DCA is on a fishing trip, and the fools don't yet know what a dangerous game they're about to be involved in.

Id have wanted to have stayed on the line & found out who is was - if it was a DCA, id have been more than willing to speak to them

 

I doubt it was Moorcroft +had a few too many beers to think straight at the time. Also didn't have mp3 recorder to hand.

Whoever thought that "Valid even if not read by you" up deserves a gold medal for stupidity - and another gold medal for lack of intelligence... I believe they are still using it on mailings - along with the other old chestnut "Your name may be registered with the Bureau of Debtors in England and Wales"... a totally non-existant organisation.

I just sign with a meaningless squiggle. Bares no resemblence to my actual signature at all. I'm longing for the day when a DCA uses it to reconstruct a CCA. I'd quite happily get a large subprime loan to pay the court costs, do them for fraud, then go for bankruptsy, knowing it was a job well done. Then sell the story to the tabloids, but for a cash in hand payment.

Not much, if anything, 'cos it costs them to process each one

 

I heard that DCA's only usually get the following info....

 

Total amount of debt owed £xxxx

Address of terrible debtor

Phone number to harass them with at all hours.

 

If they need anything else, like CCA's etc the OC charges them an admin fee to suppy the info. Thats why most of them ignore your CCA request and carry on sending the Threat-o-Grams until you get so stressed out, you pay up, just to get rid of them. er not lol.

I was under the impression that unless the DCA bought the debt outright, the OC paid the DCA a comission to collect

I got myself a new DCA to play with today.

 

Intrum Justicica (winners of the stupidest dca name 2005-2008 )

 

A catalogue debt from the previous occupiers of my house who left in 2001. So this is the fourth DCA this account has been through, every time they've been told they don't live here anymore, stop hassling me.

 

Now it's statute barred and the original creditor is still farming it out to DCA's for collection.

 

Time for a letter to the OC with threats of nasty things if I ever hear from another DCA again.
