I've had several of these and reported them back to yahoo who took action against them. The first one I had gave a contact phone number so I rang it and it was completly bogus person I spoke to had never heard of person I asked for and wanted to know where I got their phone number from so explained. Don't know what they did about that tho. A lot of sites like autotrader etc give warnings about these scams now.

Thanks for the reply. I will contact HSBC and see what exactly they need to trace the transaction, although when I went in last week they did try to trace it via my account no and sort code and came up with nothing.

Hi I have a problem and wondered if anyone could answer it for me. I used to have an account with HSBC which they very kindly closed in May. On Aug 28th a company called Aqua Pay made a deposit of £250 to my HSBC card and the bank accepted it apparently. 6 weekks on and I am still without my money. HSBC claim they cannot trace the payment so they say that I have to take this up with APbut AP claim that the money has gone from their account so therefore I should take it up with HSBC. AP gave me an ARN number which they claim is commonly used within banking and that with this HSBC can trace the money. However HSBC say they have no idea what this number is and they cannot trace the payment. So I am very p***ed off and minus £250. What I need to know is: Who is actually holding the money (and earning interest on it) Who can I threaten with court action and what is an ARN number Many thanks in advance for any help offered Midge61

Just an update. I sent smile a letter of non complience for the s.a.r.s I did recieve them just over week ago but this week Thurs and Sat I recieved two more!!! all 3 exactly the same seems they dont talk to each other there the doughnuts!

Hi all Well I got my second fob off letter today personally signed by a Doug Whitehouse. So it's off to court on Friday as i'm in town and it's payday to file claim.

in the end I just put what it said on the statements. Commission £* daily excess charge £* and hope for the best posted it off with prelim this morning in the end if its wrong they will soon say and I'll have to change it

Help please I am filling out form to take into the court. These probably seem daft questions but I want to get it right. 1.what do I put in 'brief details of claim 2.Is the value the sum claimed plus the 8% so £5336.83+£555.83 =£5891.83 3. in court fee is it just £250 or do you include AQ fee as well 4 where do i add the daily interest and how do i work it out Sorry about this but really want to be sure i've done it right Thanks in advance

Hi All I had an account with shAbbey for about 18 years and it was closed in 2004. I was going to send off my s.a.r. but after reading some of the threads I see that they claim info is stored on microfiche after 18 mths and this is not covered by DP so is it worth me trying to get my info or will they refuse? I'm local in Wellington. Don't think you have to pay for AQ but not sure look at some other threads to check. I'm gonna have to pay I know my claim over 5k. Good luck
