  1. Hi, My first letter after 15 years of driving (request for a driver details). Alleged offences - 1. driving propelled vehicle without due care (which i fully admit) and 2. failing to stop / leaving accident place without providing details - which i dont accept. Accident - in the morning rush hour tried to squeeze my bike in-between cars and went to outside lane to go around stopped car and had a slight collision with cyclist. Nothin major - cyclist had a few light bruises. I stopped, helped cyclist, called ambulance to check his bruises, provided him with my name, surname and mobile number. Waited till ambulance arrived and helped him in after which i left and spoke to cyclist twice later that day to check on him. At the ambulance they took statement of the collision, etc. and now i received this letter. How do i proceed with the second point since i did stop and provide my details. Thank you
  2. I spoke to last owner - he obviously denied any knowledge of mileage correction, but at the same time asked me not to call him ever and was fairly rude.
  3. Also, Coparts Members pledge: - at the time the vehicle was listed for sale, the vehicle's odometer reading was no less than the mileage recorded against the vehicle's registration number in the most recently available information from the DVLA and/or HPI. If any of the above conditions are not met, Copart UK will refund the purchase price and all buyer's fees and applicable taxes, subject to the limitations and eligibility requirements listed in the Terms and Conditions of the Member Protection Pledge program. And they still refused refund!!
  4. I dont know for sure, all i know previous owner had this Toyota for last 2 years before selling thru Copart.
  5. What difference does it make? Unfortunately I am not "legal savvy" person and thats why i am here. Previous owner had car for 2 years and last mileage record (August 2014) recorded as 132K miles.
  6. And yes it was HPI clear etc (maybe some misleading as to the condition, but thats not my issue). And no, it was not sold as salvage since it didnt had any category or damage to it.
  7. Hi, yes Copart is online auction site for cars. And i think its previous owner who did mileage alteration not Copart.
  8. Unfortunately advert only shows odometer picture with 70K on it and there are no confirmation of mileage. Unfortunately mileage field shows as - unknown even do other cars they advertise have disclaimer in this field - mileage discrepancy, but not for car i purchased.
  9. Thank you for advice. The problem is that only one of the staff (and over the phone) mentioned that they had MOT, everyone else just keep quiet or says they didnt check anything, etc. and based on T&C's (that car should be checked by buyers before purchase) they refuse refunds or any kinds of compensations.
  10. Hi, I have no idea of next step. Ideally i would like to get this car returned, but Copart refused this option.
  11. 2 weeks ago bought car from Copart. Car was advertised as having 70K miles on clock, picture of odometer reading shown etc. After purchase VOSA database showed last years mileage reading as 132K miles. Contacted Copart - usual bull** as we are not responsible, we deny anything, we dont check mileage etc. One of call centre staff actually informed that they had MOT on file and Copart DID see mileage discrepancy but chose not to advise buyers of this. Any ideas?
  12. Cheers everyone for replies, Brother actually have dispute with them and havent paid for last month only (he awaits resolution between them). So that is reason why they used my card (since it was only available payment option at present). Plus they actually used my card to charge my brother in advance for next 3 months+1 deposit!!!(they confirmed this in email today). Already went to bank and did chargeback. Completely appalled - how can someone do things like this and get away!? Sent them few more emails - response is the same - we have your card on file, our policy is to use it for any future payments or charges...
  13. Hi all, Not sure if this is right section (moderator please move to more appropriate one if needed). Story so far: Back in February my brother asked me to pay one of his invoices in regards to rental of unit for his business while he was away in germany. I called company, paid over the phone with my debit card etc. 2 days ago i found out that there are 5 payments taken out of my account by the same company. Called them but no response, so sent emails. They have responded that they took payment from my card in regards to same unit and since they got my card details (as they said - according to our policy) they are using it as default payment. I told them that i never gave any permission (except for one payment in February) to use my card. They have only replied that they dont issue refunds and i should get my monies from my brother.. Any ideas? Thank you in advance
  14. Cheers for reply. No i didnt miss any payments at all. Before moving out our estate agents asked us for all final bill including CT. And when we moved into next street property - i called council and informed them that i have moved etc.
  15. Hi everyone, Odd thing - after 9 years i have received a letter from bailiffs claiming i owe council tax for 2005/06. I lived at that address for 6 months before moving to next street (within same council) and lived there for 2 years afterwards paying all council tax bills etc. And now i have this letter and bailiffs letter with claim that i owe some monies. Any ideas/ suggestions? ****
  16. Any other responses/ideas?
  17. Yep DX, thats what i am trying to tell them. I had similar case when they lost my drives licence. First 3 weeks they kept denying then admitted it. Its not my first letter or SORN i sent to DVLA so i know about "go to post and actually post it" process..
  18. It would not let me edit anymore...
  19. Only thing i can do for now is "usual" i deny any debt letter to Collectica. But how long this thing will continue?
  20. Hi everyone! Happy new year first of all. Usual story - last year in February 2013 i filled SORN form for my car and posted it to DVLA. After month or so they sent me Collectica letter claiming i never made SORN application etc. There are around 5 Collectica letters, which i all denied, and i have posted last 2 letters from DVLA and latest Collectica letter which i received on friday (after 4 months of silence). Let me know what you think. Any help appreciated. *** Letter received from DVLA in June 2013 after my "fine denied" letter Page 2 And another reply from DVLA in July 2013, after short letter from denying any wrongdoing My letter to DVLA in July 2013 Then in September Collectica sent me letter - We cannot hold any action unless instructed by DVLA etc etc. and kept quiet till last Friday: Post edited, details removed. Thank you
  21. Thank you everyone for help. I decided not to reply at all. If he wants to go to court so be it. My nerves don't regenerate ...
  22. Well in his letter he's claiming Sale of Goods act 97 and saying that i have sold vehicle not as described (by that he means higher mileage). He believes car has in excess of 170k miles at present. I sold it to him as 90k miles.
  23. Hi again everyone, What shall i reply to him in my letter? He's requesting reply or will go to small claims..
  24. Hi, Yes paperwork supplied was MOT, V5, service book with all stamps etc, few other invoice for tires, brakes and other stuff and last 3 MOT's for previous years. It seems he checked thru VOSA in regards to mileages and sent me full printout together with letter of action. I did point out that i owned car since February this year. He has a copy of V5 which clearly shows that!
  25. Hi, I owned Audi in February and sold it month ago. New owner contacted me last week and telling me that actually cars mileage was altered in 2008! I originally bought car from car company and got all receipts, service book with mileage and MOT papers for last 3 MOT's and HPI printout (i did one myself and got all clear) - and all with correct mileage (as i sold it). Now he is threatening with small claims etc. Any ideas?
