  1. Dear Forum, I have never driven to London before as I live in the countryside and have had no need to visit the 'big smoke'. On 17/11/2013 I decided to go and collect some second hand furniture from a place I had not visited before. After a 4 hour journey I had hit a busy and confusing (sometimes aggressive) traffic system. My Sat Nav which needs upgrading was politely taking me all sorts of directions which at one stage must have been a bus lane because this morning I received a fine for £130.00 or £65.00 if I pay in the next 14 days, with photographic evidence. Do I really have to pay this:???::???: Do London Borough of Hounslow care that I was confused and Sat Nav had told me to turn left at the traffic lights so I took the left lane. In the picture I can see another car behind me, were they also asked to pay a fine? Please can you help. Thank you P.s. It was on Chiswick High road
  2. Dear Forum, I am having a great deal of difficulty with my bank. On the 20th of October I made an online purchase to infurn.com a furniture company. My concerns were alerted when I didn't receive a confirmation email confirming the order and delivery day. (When I had placed the order the company had promised a delivery of 7-10 days). When I tried to contact the company, I discovered were in Spain, the telephone number didn't work so I sent them an email expressing my concerns and asking when the goods would arrive. Their returned email confirmed they had received my order (and payment which had already left my bank) and the goods would be delivered on the 23rd of February 2014 :!: I sent them an immediate email back asking them for a refund as I know longer wanted the goods if they were going to arrive that late in the day. Here's where the trouble begins... On the 23rd of October they replied to my email agreeing to a refund and informed me I would get the refund in 30 days. The long and short of the story is that I was advised that according to the DSR 30 days is outside the time they are allowed and I should contact my bank and get them to do a recharge for the money. I contacted the bank on several occasions and they advised me I would have to wait 30 days which after a few conversations and visits to the branch went down to 15. During the 15 day wait I received another email from infurn.com telling me my refund would be on the 4th of December Now my maths is not too good but I do know that 30 days from when the payment was made or when the refund was agreed is not the 4th of December On two occasions I have spent a 2 hour time period in the bank and I have made several calls to Visa merchant dispute department and I have found them to be less then helpful. Visa refused to do anything until the 15th day and then only to send me documents for me to sign which took another 5 days for them to look at even after I had got my bank to fax the papers through to them, I still had to wait:!: I've been in tears about it, especially as I could not afford to not have the money if I hadn't got the goods as the goods were a purchase I made for a new business and I can not start the business without the goods or the money to purchase other equipment. This problem has cost me more than just time and money:!: The bank have been frustratingly unhelpful and when I asked why they were making me wait so long they said they were only following Visa rules. When I asked why Visa were not adhering to the Distance Selling Regulations they couldn't answer:!: Can anyone give me some advice please Thank you
  3. Have tried again and spoken to a supervisor she has informed me that if the bank tried it now it would make it invalid. So I have to wait the 15 days...
  4. P.s. The dispute team at the bank have said I have to wait 30 days until they are authorised to investigate.
  5. Hi, thanks for your mail. According to my bank, there are procedures in place and therefore I am unable to do anything about this until a certain period of time (I can't remember the exact amount of days, I had to rush in today and was kept waiting for so long I had to rush to my next appointment).
  6. Thanks for your message I feel a lot better now.! I sent them an email two days ago cancelling the order, they replied today explaining I would get a refund within 30 days.

Thanks UK Infurn office I obtained while at their london office: 02071832691

  9. To be honest I'm not really sure during the process I went through a break up & two house moves. It's been going on since last summer. They sent a wad of paper through the door detailing the case (including someone else's by mistake). Then another letter to say they had decided against the appeal.
  10. Hi everything was done by letter. I was still appealing to the tribunal when the council kept upping the amount. Please remember they were sending replies to a previous address. Where I had no longer had mail forwarding & therefore reliant on new occupants to give me mail. It would inevitably end up with my telephoning them & being told I had been written to which had been sent to my previous address, I would once again tell them I had moved and that they had been informed by letter & telephone.
  11. Can someone help me?? I've been having a problem with my local council regarding a parking ticket I received after losing my keys. I put a note on the windscreen to explain but when I got bk the note had gone & I had received a parking ticket! I contested which eventually went to a tribunal which I lost. All this time the cost is going up & they had been sending me letters to my old address even though I had informed them 4 times I had changed address & written letters with my new address at the top for them to reply to. The amount is now I think £85 (unless they have sent another letter I have not yet received. I feel so bullied couldn't I at least pay the original parking ticket charge? Thanks
  12. Thank you very much for replying Would it be better to just ignore them then? If they took me to court apart from the worst case scenario being that I would have to pay an agreed amount from march, Wouldn't they have to face the fact that the meter had been incorrectly calibrated for however long before me. Therefore, the landlord & the previous tenants would've been incorrectly billed. Or would that not be taken into account? When I spoke to the ombudsman about it when I first sought help, he said that it was down to the other people to question their bill & if they hadn't edf didn't have to take any responsibility & that I would have to pay whatever they asked.
  13. Thank you for your reply. If they decided to take me to court what would happen do you know? Thanks a lot
  14. Hello dx100uk, sorry to bother you again. I wondered how I would calculate the bill from March to Sep as I wouldn't use the heating at all during the summer months? thank you once again for your time
  15. Hello dx100uk, i've been having some trouble with my computer so ive had to use my iphone to link into this site which hasn't been easy :violin:I wonder if you could help me a little more..? I am going to email edf tonight or tomorrow to answer their email to me. EOS are calling and sending me letters to pay up and i'm getting a bit stressed and worried about it all I've been thinking of sending edf a copy of the back billing doc explaining that I am willing to pay from march to sept as you suggested and in addition to that their bill was calculated incorrectly as the day rate at the time of the billing was less than the bill they have sent (I will send a copy of the domestic prices they sent me at the time). Then I will recalculate the bill and explain exactly how much I will pay them. Does that sound reasonable? Thank you for your time p.s what did you mean by eos fishing?
  16. Hi letsmakeamark, my computer is ill so ive had to do everything on my iphone which is not easy! :violin:I wander, could you give me any more information regarding my position with edf and the fact that I am no longer at the address?
  17. Thank you for replying to my message. That is what I thought you meant. It seems a lot fairer now, their bill was way more per month then I think it should've been. Please may I ask one more question...? Do you have any idea what is the best way to approach them? Thanks
  18. There have been quite a few complaints about parking & the council in this area
  19. I will take a look. I know there has been a failure to send their replies to the correct address as they keep sending to my old address despite my informing them twice by letter & twice by telephone
  20. That's it then the council have decided then. I did speak to my mp about it & he is communicating on my behalf
